Still getting 2002 disconnect when in Queue after maintenance 12-11-2021

I will admit it is better than it was, but I am still getting 2002 disconnects after spending 2 hours in a queue that is over 4000 people deep. Get about 1/2 way through after a couple hours and get 2002 again. Logged back in as fast as i could and at the end of the line again.

The notes about congestion dated 12/11 that talks about this says to use a hardwired connection - I am. The notes say that it is possible to rejoin your spot if you log in fast enough - there is no defintion to this and this "timeframe" needs to be increased.

This is going on a week now since Early Access started and it is just getting rediculous that those that are paying to play this game cannot actually play it when they want to.

The same problem here. I thing the problem needs to be resolved on the client side. Making longer the time to relogin is not acceptable as it still requires to watch the queue all the time.

I dont think I have ever played a game where if going from character select to the game itself had a connection error that the client just closes itself.. that is just bad design to begin with. They need to change the step in the code where it displays the error and closes the client to just trying to reconnect and displaying a message to the player that it is trying to reconnect.. and you know... try to reconnect instead of just dropping everything and closing.

Really, I can't play, I get in 3 to 5k queues and the error always happens, and this story that if you go back in 5 minutes you get back to your place in the queue is a lie, I always do that and go to the end of it .

The queue is frustrating but the error is revolting, that's a lot of incompetence.

This thread needs so much more attention.

Speaking as a new player to the game, I absolutely LOVE IT!!! -- when I am able to get in. The whole thing is fantastic. Great story, great community, great interface and technical design. Everything is fabulous.

However, it's so frustrating when you're in queue for hours starting at 4k+ and then come back to find the 2002 of death. Especially when it does it again when you queue again... On 12/12/21 I spent over 8 hours in queue, getting disconnected 4 times and sent to the back of the line.

Having to babysit the queue is not realistic for a lot of people, especially those with families and work obligations. I queue as soon as I walk in the door from work, and hope and pray that I won't get DC'd from queue before I can get to my computer after my kid goes to bed. The only thing that seems to work is when I stream my queue to my discord channel, and then watch the stream on my phone periodically and can sprint downstairs to reconnect... which is just ridiculous.

As everyone seems to be agreeing, I don't have any problems with long queues. That's just a part of MMO's and frankly it just means that this game really is that great. The infuriating thing is getting dropped from queue with no auto-reconnect option. I know it's not true, but it certainly feels like in it's current design it punishes people who cannot sit in front of the queue for hours. There are many weekday evenings that my entire "game time" budget is used watching and subsequently leaving the queue, since it disconnected me when I tried to plan ahead and queue when I got home...

I hope this is something that can be patched, because I would love to continue enjoying FF14.

Yea the Queues suck, but Queue drops are unacceptable. If i knew the queue would be stable i would just go about my day and come back to my pc in 5 hrs, that would only be a minor inconvenience. Having to babysit the Queue tho means I basically have to make sure i have like 7 or more hrs free just so i can guarantee a few hrs to play.
