Almost thinking story going to be like pso2 new genesis where go to whole new planet and terraform it.
Perhaps moving north of Garlemald. Wasn't there some ruins even the garleans would like to get back? Surely there's some pandora's box waiting to be opened.
I wonder though if the alliance raids may be incorporated into the MSQ this time. I mean, they haven't mention anything about the alliance raids, which was a highlight when ShB was announced.
Emet-Slech made mention at the end about all the other places the world had to offer, he was clearly telling us "Azem" his friend about all the adventures the star still has to offer.
there a good reason for this. on ShB the raid was NieR:Automata and its sell thousands if not hundred of thousands games by it self. its really popular. this time like before its an in universe of ff14 raid and people that don't play ff14 don't give a shit for it. they may noy shot it as there not much to show as well.
Patch-wise I think we'll be seeing the remaining Ascians but not all as villains. With the scions 'disbanded' the Ascians can act as a nice mirror to that as they also figure out what to do now. They're also one of the few groups that might show up in zones like Elpis and Mare Lamentorum. Corvos was also mentioned a lot in the story so I think we'll end up going there sooner or later.
As for 7.0 onwards I would bet Meracydia. It only trades with Thavnair so its pretty easy to set up. I could see modern Meracydia being very Spira-like as a nice counter to the technologically focused Garleans and Allagans. And a continent where we're probably entirely unheard of would serve as a great 'New Start' story. Just add a few crazy twists like "They somehow are trading with another shard!" or "They use summoning... But this is not like primal summoning" and theres ample room for plot there.
Longterm the next big 'arc' is anyone's guess though. Things like the Fal'Cie or Jenova could conceivably be celestial antagonists that survived through Meteions song by being awful.
I want to know more about how the Garleans are doing. I'd also like to visit Elpis and spend more time with the Unsundered.
In future expansions I'd love to see Meracydia, New World, G'raha Tia's homeland, the Void and other shards. Other planets and interstellar travel doesn't interest me as much.
And let Zenos stay dead, please. I'm so tired of that attention seeker.
I think we're going to be separated from the others for a while, the post story will probably begin with us journying somewhere and stumbling on something.
We'll probably take Emet's advice and see the parts of the world we haven't seen yet and help them solve issues.
I think Zenos might be a part of the new raid tier and that's where he will die permanently.
I don't like Zenos as a '' main FFXIV villain '', he's a bit too simple for that.
But just as a nemesis I think he was great and he'd be good for a raid boss.
Whatever direction the story will take, I hope we get some new companions. The scions are great but after the main game and 4 expansions it's time to get to know new people. The time with Emet, Venat and Hythlodaeus was such a breath of fresh air and I wished we could have spent more time with them.
If I could choose I would love to visit the void. After travelling to the far edge of the galaxy I kinda feel "just" visiting a new continent may feel a bit boring. I would prefer to go to another shard or planet.
