Just kind of felt the need to get this off my chest. I really think there is a bit of perspective we need to grasp, what matters to some doesn't have to matter that much to you. This board I feel has lost touch with this.
It is perfectly fine for someone to be pissed as hell and come to these boards to express frustration. That is their prerogative as a consumer. Just because you think the way they said it was mean, or you don't think that is a big enough deal, does not invalidate the way they feel. It isn't like people don't have valid criticism. Error 2002 is BS. It just is. Chip shortage watching yourself get booted from queue sucks. People are allowed to complain about it. And they don't have to do it in any particular way as long as they stay in the ToS for the board.
Personally, It annoys me. I am one of those with what you would call "A real job" who doesn't get to stay up until 1AM EST just to get on. Do I think it is the end of the world, no. Is it annoying as hell to have an unreliable queue that all but guarantees I never get to play, yep.
The white knighting I see around these boards is just a little ridiculous. People come to complain and make their dissatisfaction known on the official boards (which most people no doubt assume SE at least looks at) and get told to unsub forever. Come on people, are we in kindergarten?

complaining at every teller you can find in a store doesnt make one a star... it makes one an annoyance.
sure, the 2002 error is annoying, but even someone with a "real job" (like no one else has one of those) should realize its unlikely SE created it just to spite you and isnt trying to do something about it. but then, who knows anymore.... some people will think they are doing nothing even if there was a 24/7 camera on them trying to figure it out. -

I see people who're frustrated who aren't doing that. And there was one thread I saw where the guy was constructive and so my response paid the same respect.
But if you're going to post on a public forum, expect people to have their opinion in response. If you're going to act in a certain way, don't expect people to like it. That's our prerogative as consumers who use this forum.
And the devs do look at the forums and to be fair, that's probably why there is more of that "white knighting" you call it, because hey, it's gotta be disheartening to see some of the comments people are putting out when the dev team are legitimately trying to do what they can to alleviate the problem whilst not actually being able to solve the problem. It's not feedback just going to some cold corporate entity.
With that said, I think it's fine to post constructive criticism to a problem, I don't think they are free from criticism either or need to be protected, but the many people directing their anger at them? They haven't taken the most basic step of understanding why there's a problem beyond maybe a surface level so they can still pin the blame, a problem the team have been transparent about since before Early Access. And an issue that is well documented and known.
Every error is related to high server load.
The queues are related to high server load.
To resolve these issues they either need more servers or fewer people. The best they can do without the servers is alleviate the problem with what solutions they can find based off of the problems people get and wait for the congestion to die down, which it will.
This is not whiteknighting, it is simply the reality which many are ignoring so they can point fingers. It's not a constructive way of handling it at all and so yes people will take issue. I get it's frustrating and I don't think anybody's frustration is invalid. I am fine to empathise with those who are frustrated, but those who choose to throw the toys out of the pram won't get any out of me. Because, it goes both ways: if you're not willing to be understanding of the situation, why should I be understanding of your frustration?
