My FFXIV Evaluation

Hello,

I'm a long time fan of FF mmos since I started FFXI in 2006. I played it for 6 straight years with over one year active playtime. After a long break from mmo scene, I decided to start FFXIV in early September and enjoying the masterpiece you guys have created, amazed with the features it has, very happy.

Straight to the point, as being a long time fan, I would like to make some small list of things I would like to see in game in the future that would make me even more happy;

* Please add 2nd earring slot,
* Please rework on BLU, and make it a normal job,
* Since most players can not buy houses due to restrictions, please make at least one building for housing in the planned "player island" feature,
* Please consider adding BST and GEO jobs for the future,

Idk after they change smn, I think any pet based class or dot class is unlikely. Dots further cemented by bard changes.
We just got rid of belts for the stat squish, why make another accessory?

I don't think blue mage would work as a normal job, you wouldn't be able to use it in most content without getting most of the skills.

2nd earring slot would need to coincide with a game rebalance again. They removed the belt slot now probably because they were going to need to do a rebalance with the stat squish anyway. Furthermore, the team is already struggling to give us enough Armory space for our gear so I don't see them adding another earring. Out of curiosity, why does it matter? We have quite a few slots as is. 11 or so?

BLU will never be reworked as a real job. The intention is to let them use game-breaking abilities and to allow people to be creative with combos of spells as a way to have fun in outdated content with special rewards. If it were a full job, it would be completely gutted and just be another mage with spell names that are themed after enemies, but that's it. No interesting mechanics. BST will also be a limited job for similar reasons. The main game is not balanceable with a high level of build diversity, so every "unlimited" job has to have minimal customization and a standard toolkit in order to keep the game as well balanced as it is.

Alternative housing will probably addressed at some point. Some people think the islands may have it. I think the islands will likely just have gardens for us all lol.

I could see GEO being an unlimited/regular job in the future. One expansion at a time!

While I would love most of not all of these it's not gonna happen. As for the Blu in general they were against adding it for a long time. Even so far as adding in one of the in game mails with either collectors edition items or preorder items that we should forget Blu being a thing(this was before it becoming limited).

yeah, not sold on the need for another earring. why do you feel its required?
BLU would be almost impossible to make a normal job. not without gutting the way it is and turning it into something completely different.
I think we should see what this island has before we start wanting a house there. if others could not visit, its kind of pointless

My reasoning about the second earring was, preorder bonus earrings make pre lvl80 earrings obsolete except crafts, gathering, and for retainers. Also we have two ring slots, why not two earrings. About BLU, I understand the logic behind balance and stuff, but BLU was amazing in FFXI, maybe a nostalgia captivated me. We have ways to go with the game for the future, we will see which paths will be taken. I just listed first things that came to my mind that I couldn't keep without sharing. I'm very well fond of the things game currently features.

* Please add 2nd earring slot - I believe that one is completely unnecessary, the game doesn't have any sort of gear set bonus as far as I know and it would just serve to add more materia slots, this of course considering if they wouldn't choose to give each earring one materia slot each, aka, it would just occupy more space in your bags for your alt jobs.
* Please rework on BLU, and make it a normal job - If they reworked BLU, they would need to give them a set of specific spells instead of monster learned ones which pretty much goes against the entire root of the job while balancing the job as it is right now for end game content would be a hellish task.

They will make BLU a normal job. This expansion we will see it move to 80, and the next Expansion will be 1 new job, plus BLU in normal content starting at 80. Its a "new" job to play, but saves them a lot of time as its already in game.
