Feedback: Escort & Stealth Quests. (minor spoilers until level 85)

Hello i'm really enjoying the story and the other content but there's one aspect i wanted to give some feedback on. Apologies if this is not the correct part of the forum, it's my first post)

Firstly I enjoyed the stealth quest starring Thancred as it was a change of pace however the whole 'play as another character' type of quest isn't something i normally enjoy I have chosen to play as my class and would like to do so for the majority of the content rather than playing something else. - to understand my normal perspective on this type of content.

However the amount of quests to this point (~85) which have been either escort or stealth behind this NPC i am finding frustrating. it is not a quest style that i find enjoyable especially if a game isn't designed with stealth in mind. the two most frustrating i have found so far has been as follows:

1. by far the section where you play as a guard collecting fuel. walking randomly around with very little combat capability and no sense of where to go. this took 2 tries and felt increadibly frustrating. especially after the really interesting aspect zenos occupying your own form would have been a really memorable moment but this duty really pulled me out of the story.

2. after numerous escort quests and tailing stealth quests up until this point. the section with urianger on the moon tailing him up the ramp was frustrating aswell for it being what felt like the 15th time this expansion we had done this mechanic. I was spotted halfway up the slope and had to start again (totally my fault trying to rush it to get that section over with) only for me to finish it having him give the impression that he already knew i was following him which made the section previous where i was spotted and had to start again all the more frustrating.

1. I thought that segment was actually pretty great. Though I would have set up the map differently (maybe don't have your destination be right to the right of where you start while placing a long stretch forward in front of the player, I would have had you start on the opposite side from where the end point was), I felt that the tenseness played perfectly into the story beat. Also i don't think 2 tries is too much to ask from a player.
2. I do agree that the tailing missions were pretty bad, and I would be okay if they never get used again. Fine to experiment, but those just weren't fun. I redid the Urianger tailing mission multiple times and the last spot to fail on was kinda BS.

In from the Cold I didn't really care for, but it was easy enough on very easy and I got it done.

Escort/follow quests are simply irritating. Especially trying to follow NPCs that look back and see if you are following. I don't like having to stealth. Ever. I logged one night on the Urianger one because I was irritated at having to do yet another follow or escort quest. While it only took me a few attempts, it was still a few attempts too many (because I wish the follow portion of the quest didn't exist at all). It also felt like the follow portion of the Urianger quest was entirely unnecessary - just put a destination behind a rock that's between the player and Urianger, then have the cutscene start from there. I don't want to see another escort/follow quest again.

I agree, those "Follow the Leader But Not Too Closely" quests can go away forever.
