The promised crafting system of "HQ mats = HQ result"
In the post here, it is stated that in the upcoming crafting system (presumably, the one that was just implemented), "Players are guaranteed to synthesize HQ items if all the ingredients used are HQ." However, in practice this is far from the truth.
Even with a near-optimal +quality ability set (I have CRP50/WVR50/ALC36) and full HQ mats, I have yet to reach 1000 quality for the promised 100% HQ result. This is largely due to the implementation of scaled quality gains, which tends to have the effect of trying to reach a destination by moving 50% of the remaining distance in each step; you end up taking smaller and smaller steps the closer you get, and it becomes nearly impossible to actually get there.
On more difficult synths, I am winding up with an estimated HQ rate in the 80% range, followed by an estimated ~40% on Double Down. The change in the crafting system was sold as trading away the uncertainty of the old system for a new super-reliance on HQ mats, so why is it that a full set of HQ mats does not immediately start you at 1000 quality?
Will the system that was promised be delivered soon, in 2.0, or has it been removed from the plans for this game?
