Not an expert, but wouldn't a login server maintenance mean everyone gets kicked out of the game and then the login congestion would be 10 times worse with everyone trying to get back in?
Mogstation they can easily do a maintenance without it affecting anyone much. Also lack of hardware can't be fixed with a maintenance.
Other games such as WoW have historically been able to do login server maintenance without kicking people currently in the game though during such time no new players would be able to login until said maintenance was completed. So one should hope that SE could do such for FF14 should they find a non-hardware solution to some of the current issues.
Then go to wow, you can't buy chicken expecting it to taste like fish.
you gave the answer yourself
but people choose to complain in extreme anger and hostility towards SE and FF14 team, instead of believing that they are working on the issue.
Are you ok? Would you like an oreo?
Archeronos wasn't being hostile at all and there's zero good to come out of you raising the hostility. He made a very valid point while remaining respectful. Many other MMO's give their servers a break and bit of love and I'm sure these poor over worked SE servers could use the same care and love.
But it's exactly how it works here too.

The Login server is separate from the world servers. In this ocassion when the Login server went down, people that were playing the game could continue to play with no problem unless they logged out in which case they couldn't get back in until the login server maintenance was done.
Square Enix is completely capable of performing Login Server maintenace without impacting the gameplay of people already in, but is prioritizing mogstation maintenance and pizza advertisement to promote the game and throw more fuel into the already on fire servers.
Forgive me for not having faith in a quick solution from a company that I believed would address the issues players presented to them during the original beta of FF14 but didn't until ARR.
As for the WoW comparison it is but one of numerous MMOs, and the most well known, where this was applicable. Other MMOs where they had periods of the login servers being temporarily down due to maintenance or other issues while those in game were able to continue playing would be ones such as the Star Wars: The Old Republic, Everquest, City of Heroes/Villains, The Elder Scrolls Online, Secret World, Wildstar...should I go on?
