Has the free trial service been suspended, or are they allowed to take a spot in the queue from a paying customer?
I mean - it's not a totally crazy idea...
Are we sure? I don't remember if it was touched upon in any of the live letters or recent communication regarding server congestion?
From SE's statement regarding congestion during Early Access:
"When a login queue is in place, players on the full version of the game will be prioritized for logging in. Free Trial characters will be able to log in after the login queue has been cleared. This allows us to prioritize our paying customers and will mean longer wait times for Free Trial users, but we would like to ask for your understanding on this matter."
well I found this, "Players who have purchased the latest expansion take priority in queues during the release window for Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. Players who have purchased previous expansions will shift further back in the queue than those who bought Endwalker until traffic for the game dies down following the release of Endwalker."
so what if free trial players log in during the night when theres no queue, and the server becomes full during the day.. then they still takes spots from paying customers...
- The free to play should just be stopped 24/7 untill the paying customers can log in during primetime with no queue again. (or auto DC'ed to give a spot for a paying customer when the server is full).
Wish it would work like that but they think free player could be long standing customer. Potencially become subscriber. They knew before it will be big expansion . They should make free trial to end prior early access, and if everyting went well reasume free trial. Hmmmm how was it ? “If you try to please everyone, you'll end up pleasing no one"
