Question about Queuewalker later MSQ Dungeons/Trials & Tank Sustain Necessity

Can anyone tell me if the later MSQ Dungeons/Trials require significant Tank HP Sustain to go through pleasantly. I.E. PLD or WAR would be much better experience vs DRK vs GNB?

What would you guys recommend besides poster child PLD?

Normally I'd figure this out myself but at this time I can't even log in unless it's 12am-6am PST.

The "requirements" don't feel any different from the Shadowbringers campaign, but the difference in how pleasant/easy the run gets is obvious.

On my first playthrough of the final story dungeon, the healer and one DPS died with the last boss at ~50% health. The tank was a Warrior, and they not only had enough self-healing to keep themselves alive for the rest of the fight, but they actually had enough to heal the remaining DPS the entire time, even through roomwide unavoidable damage, I think even a stack marker, etc.
Paladin could have probably done the same, but probably would have had to lose some damage to Clemency. I think Gunbreaker would have had a hard time keeping the DPS alive, but ultimately probably would have been able to slowly eke out a win. Dark Knight probably would have died.

Thanks, I have my other 80 GNB/WAR/PLD with full Crypt ilvl 530 Ready to go into Queuewalker, after I get them to 83-85ish to continue MSQ :/

I was originally going to play PLD because of Holy Sheltron & Confiteor Combo but my mood seems to favor GNB/WAR/DRK, especially GNB Heart of Heart of Corundum's auto Excog at 50% health or lower and Raw Intuition changes for pre-82 (and Bloodwhetting of course). I also guessed that it would probably make life easier to play any one of those 3 Tanks instead of DRK for the xpac dungeons/trials but wanted confirmation from others.

Have you seen the new mitigation of other tanks ? TBN would have taken too much MP to use constantly to survive by themselves.

You mean the buffed skills? They´re just advanced with a 4s damage reduction + a shield / little extra heal, but they still sit on the same cooldowns and it´s the same button as before. DRK on the other hand is the only Tank who got a new def with 10% damage reduction and 2 uses on a 60s cd.
And still, blackest night is powerful af. You can easily eat TB´s or other stuff with it and you don´t or barely drop. The damage income in dungeons overall isn´t that big and definately not consistent. I´ve solo´d amaurots endboss and other stuff as DRK too, it just took a while. You just have to time your blackest night for big hits and rotate with all other defs. As i´ve said, it needs some more input than the 1 button overheals on WAR / PLD, but it´s doable.

For saving my own ass I found that DRK's 1-2-3 Souleater Combo is pretty decent against Bosses while using TBN for Tankbusters/big hits and rotation mitigation CDs. The biggest issues I encountered so far are Mob Packs of 3+ where the only Self Heal is Abyssal Drain on its 60s CD, I sometimes end up doing single target 1-2-3 Souleater on these Mob Packs to stay alive.

But my question isn't about surviving and getting through Old Pre-80 Dungeons/Trials from SHB and older expansions, it's about how pleasant & easier it will be playing GNB/WAR/PLD vs DRK in Queuewalker 80-90 Content Dungeons/Trials going forward.

It haven´t changed much from SHB to EW, the classes are overall the same. I´m able to get trough everything with any tank easily so far. While WAR is still the most braindead, DRK needs some more input with BN and the other 2 need more buttons in their rotation. So far the easiest one is WAR but only gameplay-wise. Dungeons and normal Trials are a no-brainer for any tank anyway.

So far it´s more a decision of "Do you want to click some more buttons or not? Which animations do you prefer?"

Alright that's good news to me, I'll take that too.

Some of my worries include the later EW Dungeons/Trials would hit so hard with Bosses/Mobs/Mechanics that the additional self healing was added to GNB/WAR/PLD Short Defensive CDs + other abilities was because it was necessary to survive those.
