Pneuma Doesn't Feel Like a Capstone Ability

How do you guys feel about it? I'm not sure I like it very much. Aside from the animation, it doesn't feel strong to use. There's no added gimmick to it that makes it worth its cool down, cast time, and low(ish) potencies.

Is there something I'm missing here? Anyone else feel like this?

I can't relate to the "doesn't feel like a capstone ability" because I don't think capstone abilities are special and need to adhere to some kind of standard.

That being said, I do think it is a rather boring skill, especially after the post-media tour. It's a very strong AoE heal if it works with Zoe, but that's it. It's not like healers need even more healing skills.

Despite being another healing skill, I do think that Macrocosmos is far more interesting because of its mechanism. Pneuma on the other hand is as easy as it gets to use.

Pneuma was adjusted so Sages get their burst power at lv 76 instead - Holos now providing a 10% mitigation. This works much better now that Holos has a specific purpose in the sage's toolkit and synergizes better with Haima / Panhaima shields by lv 80.

If anything, treat Pneuma as one of your few immediate raw potency healing actions that combines damage and healing into one button. It's pretty much designed to be your burst heal skill, and the rest of your toolkit works well just mitigating and slowing damage instead.

There are many things they could do to make it feel less... bleh. A few suggestions I had are:

- Apply heal and shield.
- Apply strong shield instead of heal.
- Apply E. Dosis on all enemies it hits.
- Extend duration of buffs and dots.
- Generate an Addersgall or two (or three).
- Deal significantly more damage.

Some -- maybe all -- of these might be overkill, but as it stands, its output doesn't feel worth the CD.

I think Pneuma is fine as is. Capstone abilities don't need to be a game changer, Scholars is a movement speed buff for crying out loud. It's just another GCD burst heal skill in instances where one is needed that isn't a DPS loss and if adds show up/you run a dungeon things just melt to it. People are already complaining about overcapping on Addersgall (even tho unlike scholar there is really no reason to spend it or else they're wasted) so adding more ways of gaining addersgall would be unnecesary. Same goes for Shielding and Buff / debuff durations or higher damage. that's not why you wanna use Pneuma. It's not a skill you wanna use on cooldown like say assize.

Pneuma is great as is. Sure, it’s a cast, but it’s got a lot of weight being damage, healing, and mitigation all at the same time, so decisions need to be made on its use mid-fight with fight timing. It’s definitely a better capstone than say, SCH.

Pneuma's mitigation was moved to Holos.

It's probably because Pneuma is a Cure III/Star-like cooldown with significant upsides. As a 2m CD it's limited compared to both, but with a Med II level range and no DPS loss on top of synergies with Zoe, it's still good as an action. You will have to adjust to needing to aim it though. It's useful in situations where you're spread around ordinal positions around the boss and might not reach people with your other AoE heals.

I've found Pneuma to be slightly disjointing. It's a healing ability first and foremost as its damage is not strong enough to justify using it on CD (that's fine, its healing justifies it.)

But my problem with it is that its a healing spell that requires you to target an enemy.

The amount of times I was healing someone and and wanted to use Pneuma, only to realize I couldn't cast it because it needed to be used on an enemy caught me by surprise. It definitely needs some getting used to.
