Trying to play with my sister. Seems impossible.

I have been playing FFXIV for a while now. I am on a pretty populated world (All NA worlds are guess..) We waited until 4AM last night to try to get my sister to be able to make a character on my server, but it never became available. I was watching Lodestone. There were only 4 other servers on all data centers that even came available for character creation. Is it going to be like this forever? Is there a less populated server we can both switch to, or do they plan on opening new servers or data centers? She just bought the collectors edition and she can't even play. I am currently waiting in hours long queues just to get errors before I get in, which I understand the server issues, but people are paying money for this and can't play. It's really frustrating.

The availability of character creation cycles. I don't know how often, I had to wait a few days for the right time for one of my friends to make a new character so we could play together, and that was months ago. All I can really suggest now is to be patient as given the current server stability and queue wait time issues, it will take time to reach the goal you want.

It doesn't cycle. They just don't allow creation when servers are congested, which they are 24/7 at the moment.

At the moment, character creation is likely going to be impossible or really hard, as in order to create a character, you have to be able to log in, to register the new data. The reason at the moment you are unable to is because everyone is clamoring for early access (initially) then now full release of game. As is usual, it is likely to settle down in 2-3 weeks or so as people finish MSQ and basic content of the sort and taper off again. otherwise, best times for NA data centers are between 2-4 AM PST or so (5-7 AM EST) During the work / school week so that may be your window to try now if you wish, as oft then there is minimal to no Queue.
