A name change is required to log in.

I purchased a name change and fantasia last night and still cannot log in due to a name change being required. I have the option to change it but it still says name change required..

You might be trying to use a name that is already registered? That happens a lot. If someone is already using it on your server, they won't let you use it. Try using an alternate spelling if you can.

I don't even get the option to change it though, just get that name change required but I have yet to type anything in.

I have a name change pending on my main character. It will not allow you to do so with the servers the way they are right now. You will not be able to queue until you change your name. You cannot change your name until the game can actually display your character data.

Does anyone know a work around for this?

Oh. That makes sense. I can only suggest logging in quickly either in the morning or really late at night when the congestion isnt as bad.

Going on two days of being unable to log in at all because of this issue.

I had a similar issue, as I did both as well. I did what was suggested above and that is to login when the queues don't exist for your region. I queued at 1030 PM PST last night and got in roughly around 11:45 PST. From 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM PST there was little to no queue.

I did the same and just had to keep trying. Thankfully it doesn't seem to require logging into a world server, so just spamming it should be okay.

I tried at multiple times after midnight but had no luck, last try was at 2am. :(

Did you right click on your character name and access the name change via the sub menu that pops up? Is that where the error occurs as well?
