Game crashes to desktop

Anyone experience issues to launch the game Steam version specifically?

My game opens up but is a blackscreen (right before you see SQUARE ENIX logo) and crash to desktop.

I'm currently re-installing the game in case some files was corrupted but would be interesting to hear if more have issues.

I have in the meantime been able to play on my PS5, so far I enjoy endwalker but would love to play it on my pc instead.

This is happening to me too. (I'm not using the Steam version though)

edit: I disabled DirectX 11 and it launched properly. If anyone else wants to try this, you can do it via the gear icon on the launcher.

I thought DX9 was discontinued with SHB?

No need, I reinstalled the game and working properly now, with DX11.
Updated Geforce drivers as well for good measure.

It seems to be working so far, knock on wood.
I just woke up so too tired to bother figuring out why this is happening rn @_@

Had this too. I just kept it open in background and eventually it finally put me to title screen. I know it looks like it's frozen, but apparently it still has a spark here and there and tries to flame up. Once you've mananged to get to title screen, it'll run like it used to.
Seems like the game has to figure out the changes once.

I have the same problem, black screen before the Square Enix logo, for now it's still the same for me.

EDIT : I changed to DX9, it works and after that I reloaded in DX11 and now it also works, if that can help someone ...

Switching back to DX11 after switching to DX9 worked for me too. It did take a minute but all is well now.

I had the same issue. I'm a new player and at first (before patch) I would experience frequent crashes to desktop while in a city. Turning off DirectX 11 stopped the crashes, so I assumed I was ok.

Now after the patch (and paid subscription) I'm crashing again, this time with DirectX 11 turned off. I'm at a loss since sitting in queue for 30-60 each time makes it impossible to troubleshoot.

Each crash is the same. Short freeze, then crash to desktop with no error message and no events in the Window events log. I'm using the standalone version, not Steam. I don't have issues using DirectX 11 in any other games. Desktop computer with 1070 nvidia graphics card.

On a side note: I can't believe the game makes you re-queue after crashing. Other games have no problem honoring your position if you relog within a few minutes.
