After trying to launch ff14 after the EW update, I'm able to open the launcher and press play, but when the window opens, all I get is a black screen, which closes after a few seconds when I click anywhere.
I've tried disabling my firewall, running the launcher as an admin and reinstalling/resetting everything to defaults, but I still have the same problem. Has anyone else encountered anything like this/been able to solve it?
I was having issues with the black screen as well and after turning off DX11 in the launcher it worked for me. Maybe try it before you go through the hassle of reinstalling the game like I did lol.
the same thing is happening to me but launcher never close and i can't alt-tab for task manager etc, its just a black screen when i press play, i'm playing via steam, i've added my pre-order cd key on my account page, 2 days ago everything was fine but today i downloaded the patch and i'm getting this black screen issue please fix this
Edit: i've downloaded the latest driver from nvdia (which released 2 days ago) and it works now with directx 11, if you have nvidia graphic card try downloading latest driver guys, i hope it works for you aswell
I tried disabling dx11, but all I get is an error message when I go to launch it without it - it basically says the latest version is required or something...

Edit: Doom was right - there was another driver update that I needed to do, and that fixed it... I hadn't even thought of that because I just updated it about a week ago... thanks man, you're a lifesaver!
I can log in but all the buttons on the left are ? my characters doesn't show up and when I log in it lets me wade 2 hours through a 4k person queue before telling me "Connection Lost Server Lobby has encountered an error." or some such. I preordered and though I was getting early access, but I am getting NO access.
