I don't experience these.
Yeah, this used to happen to me all the time. WTFast rerouting me to another city actually helped, despite the longer length of the route, because there's some backbone that loves to drop FFXIV packets.
No DC but definitely getting some lag this week. But there's always lag in the lead-up to a patch and then for a few days after. Then it clears up.
I haven't seen any lag this week. I remember on other mmo's when I had bad lag or discoonects it was from bots and illegal mods players was using. It could be just your internet having routing problems.
My wife has been running into 90006 errors quite frequently this past week. Running WinMTR most of last night shows a Internet node between Denver and Dallas that is completely fubar, and it is losing packets going into the Aether Lobby.

That shows the server status and the IP address of all of the servers, so you can ping it and see where you are dropping packets.
I experience it like clockwork a few days before a patch and for a few days after. It's still playable. Just get lag spikes. It's entirely possible there are routing issues at every patch. I always just chalked it up that they were tweaking things behind the scenes around patches which could make things act in unexpected ways. I know that certainly happens where I work when we're twiddling dials for a hotfix or the network crew is putting the hamsters back on the wheels.
