A gentle reminder to the community team...

Around the start of the month, a community team manager had sent a DM asking if one of my friend's music pieces could be featured for this week's Duty Commence's community showcase. She was pretty excited, as were everyone who participated in the project, only to have it, well, not shown.

I'm sure there's hundreds of pieces of work that hasn't been chosen to be showcased and there's probably a myriad of reasons for not using this particular piece of work, but it bothers me to an extent she wasn't given a reason why it was replaced, and she's pretty crushed about it.

It doesn't need to be mentioned, I think that creators work very hard on their pieces, regardless of the quality, and if it was a submission that was rejected I'm sure everyone who have understood, but this was sought out by the community team, so there had been certain expectations that didn't get met.

What's done is done, really, and I don't want to raise a fuss about it. Its just that I did expect a little better from the team when it comes to communicating things like this, and don't take things for granted.

I know there's massive respect to all creators for FF content, and it shows, so I just want to point out it hurts a heckofalot more if you end up falling through the cracks, and I just want to implore the community team to be more mindful about it.

There could be any number of reasons for this especially depending on the medium. Another thing to note is that the game isn't over and that wasn't the last community event. Maybe they couldn't make the room this time and it may show up next time?

Absolutely. I'm not saying they didn't have a good rationale. I've said as much.

But the fact remains is they had set up expectations and it is understandable my friend is left feeling crushed when she wasn't at the very least, given a small apology or an explanation. I don't feel that's particularly unreasonable an expectation when you were approached for something and for whatever reason, it isn't going to work or a delay happens. It is a very small kindness that I felt should have been afforded, and wasn't, hence my disappointment.

Yes, they're the ones who do Duty Commenced. There's three. Foxicon is part of the JP one. It's how we were able to get the Inferno jacket as part of the current moogle treasure trove.

Often? Probably not. Any time you see a post from Luxpheras or the rare times we get a new one and you see a post from someone with a minions picture announcing they joined the team and it's not April 1st or Yoshida's birthday to where everyone's picture gets turned into a Namazu that's them.

Did they not say why they didn't show it during the last Duty Commenced? Which team contacted them? Since there's three of them. I don't want to just assume it was the NA one when many EU players post in this side. In the past they normally do give a reason why they didn't show off something. Normally due to time. They also try to show off things they didn't get to in the next one. They host them about once a month.

I am fairly certain it was a person from the NA side.

I kinda don't want to get on the specifics for this because I'm afraid of unwanted internet fame for said friend, and I only posted here to remind the community team on the very off chance that they might be reading this, to be more considerate, since it doesn't really seem like there's a more private avenue to provide them feedback. I'm sure they are and try to be. But in this particular instance, I feel they had failed and I needed to speak up a little, if only on behalf of a talented individual who felt ... well, abandoned. Which I'm sure isn't the case.
