INT vs. M.ACC (Primals)

Before we had so many options, I focused on M.Acc. But now everyone is talking about 360+ INT for Garuda and I keep seeing BLM's outside Garuda with almost no M.Acc and double and triple INT melds. I havn't taken the time to test how much M.Acc is enough for Garuda, but i've been using 480 unbuffed and I get resisted once in a while so i'm assuming much lower is not ideal. Does the Dmg gained by stacking INT outweigh getting resisted now? Just seems like I have to trade M.Acc for INT in every slot, so how do you INT stackers fair on M.Acc?

They are most likely doing the BLM burn. Which is using BV+ Minuet to boost the acc up by 86+. which Allows you to stack more int (even more if using buttons in a blanket.)

thankyou, didn't realize how much the m.acc boost was from buffs on that. makes sense. So if you aren't doing blm burn, M.Acc is still pretty important?

yes around 480 Is what you should aim for. In a non burn garuda.

there are basically a few reasons you see people stacking int.

1. they're doing blm burn (lol) strat and rely on BV minuet (and possibly macc food as well) to limit resists

2. they're new to blm, don't know how much resists screw you up and/or are just doing what they're told by other (often misguided) people

3. they've never really min-maxed in previous MMOs where hitting accuracy cap was the most important thing to do first as a damage class, and don't know the importance of limiting resists to increase average dps

4. they can't afford macc materia, or simply don't care about min-maxing

5. big numbers syndrome, where they don't care about a bunch of resists as long as they can crit a massive thundaga every now and then


now, that said- for garuda you'll want 530+ total macc (including any buffs) for about 97-98% accuracy. to all but erase that last 2-3% you'll probably need around 550, as otherwise you'll still get an unlucky resist here and there.

Just do the damages

People are stacking INT atm, because it seems to be more effective to stack INT and eat Mag. Acc food, than to stack Magic. Acc and eat mag. Attk food. I have seen a "tripple" melded Int stack blm eating Mag. Acc food, out DD the Mag. Attk stacked with double meld Int blm, but at that point, its you get what you paid for.

TBH I think its getting to the point, where they need to nerf out some money. I know some with 80mil, and a couple others in the 100+ mil range. thankfully the market isnt boasting a 1mil per piece of gear(base), but atm Garuda seems like a store bought success ploy to siphon off some gil from the servers. I've seen "associates" blow up 5 mil trying for tripple melded brands, trying to get that max Output for garuda. Though after this patch that may all change, the "strat" as i have seen it, was to burn as much of garuda as you can, so that post Astral Flow you could skip the phase where she warps from the center to the outskirts requiring the party to move in tandum either farthest away or behind her, to the phase that you rotate with the sand in a clockwise circle. As the first win skipped that middle phase, and the blm burn skips all phases, I would not be suprised that after patch, Garuda will start doing astral flow per HP % thus forcing groups to do all phases. this would intern negate some of the "if you cant do such and such dmg pre-astral flow "see you again" type issues.

When i see the strat of all AF, not tripple melded with 5+mil in gear video, i will see it as a "everyone fight". Til then, I have no big yearn to get lack luster weapons from her.
