New Type of Linkshell - The Clulture

Hi Everyone

It has been bugging me for a while now.

Every linkshell who participates in events is solely focused on drops and gear and not the event itself or having fun.

Now I may get flamed for this but I really dont like to play the game with the intense pressure of I must have max DPS for my job or I must be the first to do this and that.

As well as you must have x jobs to do x fight, otherwise its too much of a challenge and not speedy enough so we wont get the drops we want or be able to post a youtube vid showing how awesome we are.

All of this Elitism Endgame crap or whatever you call it has been destroying my fun and enjoyment of the game im sick and tired of these players essentially saying to alot of other players you must do it this way or that way (even if only implied).

So i was wondering if anyone thinks similar on Durandal ?

People who think the same and play the game for fun where winning is more a part of the process rather than the aim.

People who band together to try crazy strats or just crazy stuff for the laughs

who dont isolate other members of the LS because they don't have x job leveled.

People who dont care about proven strategies and will simply work with what they can get and still somehow pull through difficult content.

Players who have just felt out of place in their current LS and couldn't give a crap about drops as long as they can do events and attempt end game content and just /random for something they would like.

Players who simply want to relax and take part in events regardless of the amount of time they have put into their jobs.

The main aim is to give people who feel this way a place to come for events outside their normal social LS

my hope is that events can be run by members on a Tuesday night and and a Sunday evening or similar (TBC) and run with the idea of rotating members for certain content etc.

then The Culture may be the place for you.

A couple of us on the server banded together to try a PLD x 8 Ifrit strategy. At first I though "Yeah, we can do this!" Then he started using TP moves.

You basically just described Carnival.

Haha, I saw the shouts for that. The full party PLD Ifrit and then someone was shouting for a full WHM Ifrit party but that devolved into a discussion of who would tank.

Stuff like that is fun, and I was glad to see people excited to do it. It's not easy to get a non-experience party started for anything besides the primal fights. On Rabanastre we had a highly active Immortal Flames Caravan Linkshell which actively ran daily caravans, even with the new GC items it's rare for anyone to mention it.

Didn't mean to derail the topic, TC, I agree with you on some aspects and wish you luck.

I would join carnival but its EST and I am GMT my play time is between 12pm EST to 5pm est, so not many people on around then what im trying to create is a little like a european version of Carnival which does sound really fun :)
