The color of teleports

So I’ve noticed here and there that when you teleport, sometimes the effects will have a crackle and lighting effect that’s purple. Most of the time it’s normal. I was wondering if that effect has a reason? And if so what causes it?

that's just the visual difference between using teleport and return.

Specifically, it's return that's the purple one.
