Cant assign my retainer to mining

I haven't played in awhile and I was wanting to switch one of my retainer jobs to mining. But when I go to assign the job it doesn't show it on the list of jobs I can make my retainer. Is there something I'm missing or?

I figured it out. I had to reset the retainer class and select mining.

Mining is a class, not a job, so it's not going to appear on the list if you select "Assign retainer a job". You need to select "Reset retainer class".
