I need friends

I'm a wow refugee and I've been playing Final Fantasy xiv for a few months now and I've never been happier. I love the story and all the characters in this game, Allisae is my favorite of course, but I've been so invested in the story that I haven't made any friends. I've been watching videos about how amazing the community is and I just don't want to miss out on that aspect anymore. So if anyone wants to have a chat with a newbie maybe show me the ropes a little bit here and there I would be grateful.
