Request : Dissipation change

Dissipation has for a very long time been considered a weak skill in SCH's arsenal due to its lack of synergie with the rest of its toolkit.

Due to this it is usually only used during the opener for an extra dps.

Additionaly, Dissipation tends to confuse new players due to its effect. Any casual Scholar will consider this to be an emergency heal tool. However this is, most of the time, far from reality because the healing bonus effect does not apply to SCH abilties, which is at odd with it granting 3 AF stacks. That on top of the fairy being gone for a whooping 30s makes it really uninteresting in most situation beside a powerful deployement as not only do you loose the heal of the fairy (but that's the point of the 20% heal bonus) but more specifically, the gauge doesn't fill from using AF as she's gone which again is at odd with the skill as a whole.

[Important change that NEED to be done]
Change the healing effect to also affect abilities.
In otherwords "Increase healing action potency by 20%"
This would make the skill more coherent with the rest of SCH kit.
It is incredibly weird that a skill which grant 3 AF and a healing buff doesn't affect the related skills.

[QoL changes that would make the skill less frustrating]
Allow the Fairy gauge to still be filled while the fairy is gone during Dissipation.
As Dissipation is a buff, it should be possible to add a new effect such as
"Using Lustrate, Sacred Soil, Indomability or Excogitation or Energy Drain also increase fairy gauge by 10"

Reduce the duration to 15s.
30s is simply too long for its intended purpose (spare a few niche moment)
It'd see much more use if the duration was reduced.

Add a new effect "Your next Indomability or Excogitation can be used regardless of their state once"
As in, even if they're on CD you can still use one of them once.
The issue with Dissipation current design is that, assuming you do want it for healing and more especially AF usage (which assumes we'll need to actually heal more), you'll more than likely have most of your ogcd on CD by that time.
Allowing the use of a single Indom or Excogitation to be used once every 180s wouldn't break the game and make the skill feel more complete and add some weight to it beyond "3 energy drain" or "super deploy for the lolz"

I defnitely think if it had just the change of "healing actions" it would be really worth already.

Actually a side note, but the game really needs to improve the wording on Dissipation as well... currently it goes like " Also increases healing magic potency by 20%."... What is "magic" is kinda misleading, because stuff is labeled either Spells or Abilities. I speak for myself when took me a LONG time to figure on my own that "magic" only means spells and not abilities. Like, we tend to think most everything casters perform are magic, right?

Edit: Same goes for WHM's Temperance and probably something on AST being worded like that too.

I'm not good with math, but wouldn't Recitation + Dissipation + Excog/Indom be ridiculously powerful if Dissipation was changed to effect all of Scholar's healing? I think maybe if it impacted Lustrate that would help because at higher levels Lustrate is pretty underwhelming, but Indom and Excog are already very good, especially paired with Recitation.

I've thought before that instead of eating your faerie, it should really just "silence" the faerie. Obviously I don't know how the internal coding for Lily works but I think if she just stopped using abilities for 30 seconds it should completely fix the annoyance of having to manually place her again when she comes back and because she's still alive, it would let you gain the 30 faerie gauge from the Aetherflow that you just gained.

Considering you are spending three cooldowns for what amounts to Earthly Star I would say the trade off is fine. That said I don’t think it should affect SCH’s healing actions at all. I think it should affect all spell potency on them instead.

It also kinda suffers from being that it was SE’s first attempt to work with summoning pets. Pre SB Dissipation was absolutely god awful and people’s memories of that version clouds their judgment of the modern iteration a lot.

What if Dissipation also reset the cooldowns of Excog, Indom, and Sacred Soil?

You'd be surprised with how much interesting interactions PvP skills have in comparison to their PvE counterparts.

Like Silver-Strider stated, the PvP counterpart---despite being less effective in comparison to its other healer siblings---still offer some interaction between their buttons unlike its PvE version, it's almost baffling considering PvP content are more like an after-thought.

I personally really enjoy PvP, especially as SCH.

Dissipation essentially gives you 1 “Aetherflow” charge back for 50 fairy gauge while also giving a healing buff.

To break it down, “Aetherflow” is actually your Lustrate/Indom charges. Excogitation is on a separate charge (making it more akin to Divine Benison and Celestial Intersection as…it’s sorta like a reverse shield) and Sacred Soil is disabled in PvP. It’s also on a 15 sec recharge.

So essentially, you have “Aetherflow” that can only be used on Lustrate/Indom, you recharge an “Aetherflow” every 15 sec, and you expend 50 fairy gauge to gain an additional charge of “Aetherflow”.

Hmmm…I wonder if Addersgall and Rizomata is just PvP SCH re-kitted for PvE…
