Loggin in from different PC = LOCK your account wtf SE?

Exactly what the thread says. Every time i login to XIV from a different PC they lock my account. Happened twice now.... Isn't this overkill SE?

It isnt with a diff PC, its if you login from a different IP Address and its a nice security feature.

its a wonderful feature and easy to fix. You can either reset your password each time or get a key faub and use that every time you log in. This is keeping you from getting your account hacked.

I wish they'd release a free cellphone one like what Battle.net uses. Having to keep track of that little thing is annoying.

they probably will eventually, seems SE is getting more and more into apps and what not within their company.

It's really annoying when you live in a place where you get a new ip every time you reset your modem, coupled with the fact that your ISP allows your internet to go down for brief (1 minute) intervals all throughout the day.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to line their pockets with a little more money if it meant I didn't have to deal with this.

I have a dynamic IP and it never locks me, as my dynamic range doesn't stray to the point it would look like a different location. Get a token your problem is solved. In all actuality a lot of companies employ this technique these days even in non-media related fields, you just don't get automatically locked out it usually takes a bit for the system to do it and by then your new IP would be registered as "you" and the system will ignore it.

They need to give players a way to opt out of this security measure.

So the player can complain that the sercurity sucks.. that all there info got hacked and possibly deleted? I really don't think so...
