Hi all, I'm curious how many of you out there will be changing roles/jobs in EW. I myself had been tanking for years up until a few weeks ago I decided permanently switch to SAM going forward for many personal reasons. This left with with a bit of a storage and glamour pickle but I am curious how many of you are choosing to do the same weather it be to sage or reaper or whatever.
I’ve always bounced between maining tanks and heals with healers usually being what I end up sticking with. I want to continue to main my SCH but I’ll mostly likely play SGE some when the hype dies down.
I basically already did that going into Stormblood, went from a Tank (WAR, then DRK) to melee DPS (NIN, then SAM). Coincided nicely with Tsiron getting their ass beat by Zenos, story-wise...! I've since leveled WHM, BLM and RDM too, and while I could see myself playing RDM, "canonically" they're a "samurai" now.
My alt is, at this point (was a DRG originally), supposed to be the RDM main, but I've got one of each role maxed out regardless because Road to 70 made it super easy
I got back into healing towards the end of ShB, and was planning on running Sage, but after thinking about it, I may pick up tanking again as the healer and dps queues are going to be ridiculous with so many swapping to Sage and Reaper. When it calms down from being the cool new toy, maybe ill pick up Sage. Or at least thats what i tell myself, my thoughts on it change back and forth a lot.
Still planning on the role swap. Been a mch main since heavensward, am just tired of it so, planning on sage, but also kind of debating the allure of blm or drg.
i'm a RDM main but i might switch over to DNC or DRG, maybe SMN if i can finally wrap my head around it during EW.
I'm bad at picking a main but Reaper is looking pretty good. Too bad there are so few good looking Maiming glamours. The metal skinsuit, the glowing Eureka one and the Republican/gladiator set.
For raiding:
HW (MCH>BRD)
SB (BRD)
SHB (DRK>PLD)
EW (PLD>DRK)
For other content:
Healers (Any).
I rarely played DPS after SB.
I may not be switching jobs but I may be realigning my character's job.
Aurelie has "canonically" always been a summoner, which lore-wise has felt very appropriate, but really I switched to red mage some time ago. So basically I play it for story and then don't touch it for the rest of the expansion.
Endwalker is seeming like it might be the opportunity to officially drop summoner and have Aurelie take up red mage at the end of the story if not the start. From the job centred around calling on higher powers to the one that draws entirely on the caster's own strength – depending on where the plot goes, that might be very symbolic.
