Media Tour Reaper Impressions

Overall looks like a fun job. I can see myself having a lot of fun with all the enhanced actions with the gameplay loop it's going for. Very nice single target damage and some very simple AoE options alongside party utility. Very glad I farmed out gear for full leveling process for Endwalker.

All the analysis we did after the liveletter appears to be correct and as such I think it's kinda meh. A really busy opener followed by long stretch of nothing interesting to do. Also not a fan of the level ranges that it gets skills at. Especially not a fan of it's 2 biggest hits being 88 and 90 respectively. Kinda seems like a job that will feel bad whenever you sync it down.

Doesn't seem like a bad job, just not what I am after. Unlocking it and spending some time on a dummy is still the first thing I plan to do on Endwalker release, just reasonably certain that will be disappointing and I will be taking Sam up through Endwalker (or maybe rdm or gnb, kinda meh on the sam stuff too).

This is exactly why I can’t stand the practice of having jobs unlocked so late! If they started at 30 or at least 50 they’d be mindful of the skills at hand and the kit, starting at 70 their focus is 90 and 70 while disregarding how it plays in 50s or 60s

Yeah gonna practice at a dummy myself and then put myself through the torture of going through every dungeon from lowest lvl to highest level like I do with every new job class. Any issues I have with any new class is that they very quickly lose their novelty once you fall into the rotation gameplay loop.

I hope it's not terribly gimped like Black Mage is at low levels.

Looking at the skills that seems to be the case. No gauge interaction until 50, no positionals until 70 and no SPOOKY MODE until 80. Communio isn't until lvl 90.

Level synced content especially level 50 is gonna be very sad for Reapers. Anything below 35 is going to require us to tag every mob with Shadow of Death.

Will it be too bad? Probably not but when it does happen it'll suck big time. Blue Mage has spoiled me when it comes to level sync.

From quick glance, Its like DRG + SAM in one job.
Build-up Kenki gauge to enter Life of the dragon phase.
I'm more interested in support skills TBH.
The sooner I get used to the front & back elusive jump, the better.

I think the scythe slice graphics are going to be nerfed .....
