Trust system for Trials
Many people, including me, play FF14 for the story. We are immersed in the world of Eorzea and this world serves as a respite from the stressful lives that we lead in the real world. Yet the toxicity, homophobia, ableism, and elitism from the real world also seeps into Eorzea, which is why I and many others have much welcomed the Trust system in order for us to do content without being encumbered by the toxic sludge that a minority of this game's community brings with them into Duty Finder. Yet, minority or no, a bad apple will spoil the whole batch, and it is for this reason that whenever I need to queue for a trial during the main story I am anxious, scared, not knowing whether I'll run into a toxic asshole or not.
Please, Square Enix, implement the Trust system for trials. Many of us do not want to interact with other players for fear of our safety and mental well-being. We simply wish to play the story and immerse ourselves in the world, not deal with toxic elitists.

I have to say no to this. And I say this as someone who uses the Trusts for the dungeons.
Trusts require SE to design around the capabilities of the AI. This limits the interesting mechanics that can be put into the content they are used for. It's one reason why I think people have complained about the simplicity of SHB dungeons. They had to be made simple in order for the Trusts to work.
If Trusts are added for Trials, then Trials would have to have their mechanics simplified to match the capabilities of the AI. And that would be a detriment to the game.
I would say that the negative effects that Trusts would have on Trials, exceed the positive effects.

Or you could make a better AI that is compatible with the difficulty intended for a lvl 80+ trial. I would love to take down Anima or the Magus Sisters with the party of scions rather than frog suit tank, pig suit healer, namazu bard, etc...
-
I wouldn't mind the option to do the 3-4 MSQ trials (on normal difficulty) we get per expansion with Trusts, specially since starting with Endwalker we have a big enough group of them to form a proper 8-man party regardless of what role the player is (mostly thanks to G'Raha and his all-rounder status).

I mean... the test case already exists, Memoria Miseria normal.
So they can definitely make Trial content with Trusts... but can they make Trial content that can be done interchangeably with Players or Trusts that retains a modicum of difficulty when done with players... iunno.
I'm leaning more towards probably though when I think about ShB Trials... the normal modes don't have anything particularly difficult that I think an A.I. or script wouldn't be able to handle.

Oh, an Ativan thread.. I wonder if they can make one without buzz words- oh.. that didn't last long, not even three sentences, nevermind.
I don't really see why they couldn't do this. If you can accept that they're less efficient than actual players, by design, then why not? Like, I've seen people complain about Trusts not using AoE's.. yeah.. iirc that is by design, because they're not meant to be on par with players.

You could just click to the Events tab so you don't see any chat. You will usually clear a trial in 1 to a few pulls at most even if they are trying to talk to you.

The Trust AI is crap and would never be able to handle trials. I have given up on it many times as a DPS as the healer AI was just not healing, the DPS AI was not doing max damage and I failed so many dungeons due to THEIR limitations.
-
The AI may prioritize you for healing but it will not heal you in the middle of a mechanic. The intention is to teach players to dodge and handle them properly. DPS AI adjusts its damage to compensate or slow down depending on the player's damage in order to complete the dungeon in 30 minutes.

I would rather spend 110 minutes doing a trial and clearing it with Trusts then any party whatsoever. I play this because it's a final fantasy game, not a crappy mmo.
The more I can do solo the better.
