How is MNK and PUG?

So... I'm kinda new, been playing before though, and I'm curious as to how MNK and PUG are late and endgame?

I've heard how WAR seems to have some of the best damage and tanking capability, but no-one really compares MNK to them.

I'll level up the job regardless, but am I going to be ostracized if I want to play the job over others?

Mnk pretty much has the highest damage versus a single target but as for the cold hard reality...

Basically with the endgame content how it is unless you have WHM, BLM, WAR, BRD (in order of demand) leveled you are probably going to be ostracized unless you have a linkshell willing to take your MNK. I assume you're currently getting stuff done through pickups? (that's the situation for me) If so that's pretty much the situation at the moment.

Certain fights mnks really excel at like Miser in Aurum Vale...however most of the time people seem to be expected to go in as one job then switch to mnk for that fight.

Currently MNK and DRG aren't 'safe options' and so they aren't preferred for pickups. Due to the mechanics of certain endgame fights our DPS is hindered too while BLM and BRD's DPS goes largely unhindered.
