Does Anyone Worksafe RP here?

Hi all.

I've recently come back to the game after a 6-ish year hiatus and Lockdown means I'm really wanting to rp a bit in this game. Problem is, we've all heard the horror tails that is the RP scene on this game and I wanted to know, is there anywhere that does RP that isn't filled with smuttery? I just wanna do slice of life scenes and casual, fun RP without it going the way of Balmung Limsa Lominsa. Currently on Tonberry atm, but I don't mind changing servers and actually plan to once the Oceana servers open.

Most of RP in this game is SFW. People honestly talk about ERP more than there is ERP actually happening.

Though looking for people to play with might be a bit of a task. You might try open a PF with detailed description of what you want, or you can look for RP Discord servers, but I don't know how big is the RP community on Elemental.

I've had a lot of fun SFW RP over in Ul'dah Balmung! I will openly admit I ERP as well but not just flat out in the open of course. If you're looking for casual interactions there's a lot of that around!

The horror tales are literally just that. They're tales. Don't buy into the minority flapping their gums about ERP because they personally want to see it eradicated from the entire internet.

Only place you need to be worried about is Quicksand in Balmung. Everywhere else is fine. Crystal in general is actually the strictest NA DC that I know of in regards to RP, but people just ignore that because the Quicksand exists

As far as outside NA, I've literally never heard of any other DC's RP scene mentioned so I couldn't tell you but the general word is that anywhere is calmer than the NA servers.

99% true. I met some neat people there that didn't immediately want to jump me but I have received some tells that ranged from horribly desperate to flat out weird.

I want to RP first and foremost. We can add an E to it if it fits but...Don't be weird is all I ask of folks.

Can't control other people unfortunately. All you can do is report. If you go there and get hit on by someone and don't want it...just report and leave. Or just leave.

In my experience, it can be pretty difficult to find people to role-play with in this game who aren't just looking to play out relationships and little else. It's more of a problem over on the North American servers, I've found - so you might have more luck over on Omega which is the unofficial European RP server.

Generally speaking, though, even the professed 'serious' role-players on Balmung who swore up and down that they just wanted to get out into the game world and fight bandits and monsters would suddenly turn around and try to nudge my character towards sleeping with them. It was pretty surreal.

Worse yet, a lot of the same individuals would then stop interaction altogether - because, as it turned out, the pursuit of romance/ERP ended up being their primary motivator after all.

Pretty much this
Only level 1 alts does ERP and they are very easy to identify. The rest only meme or trolls about it in shout chat, anyways for your own sanity avoid anyone that have /c/ on their profile, seriously worst people ever.
