Infinite Loading Screen

When moving into Heavensward content I can no longer Load my main character. It first started when I sellected the Heavensward start screen from the main menue. The movie played and then the game got stuck on the black loading screen with the spinning loading wheel in the bottom, right corner before the title came up. I was forced to quit the game using ctl, alt, Del. I started the game again and loaded the character again. This worked fine and I went the the main gate to ishguard for the first time and went in. This time the game got stuck on the loading screen with the bouncing moogle and the ishguard background.
Since then I have been unable to Load that character (other characters load fine) at all with the bouncing moogle screen going on forever after I select my character.
I have tried deleting the Local files folder in the "My games" folder and still cant load them.
Please help.

Ok so I was able to log back in with the character by visiting another world server from the character select which had me loading Uldah instead of ishguad. Upon trying to enter Ishguard again it still wouldnt load. Loading the Heavensward expansion content seems to be the problem

Does the issue occur if the game is reinstalled? If you have not done so already, I advise to uninstall Final Fantasy XIV completely and reinstall it.
