Suggestion: Personal LBs (Non-Group Content)

I'm well aware that the LB system as it is, is neat. But, FF games have had limit breaks PER CHARACTER for ages. I see no reason why we can't have a personal LB for each job for overworld/solo content.

The argument I get is "Your combo enders and major OGCDs at 80 are your LB". No. No they are not. An LB is a devastating attack. Something like Stardiver for DRG is powerful, sure, but it does not have the devastation that an LB has. So, here is what I propose:

- Add a personal LB (single bar) for each job
- Make them ONLY useable in Solo and Overworld content (ie: Job Quests/FATEs/general
combat/etc)
- It only fills by taking damage and dealing damage
- Once filled, use to unleash a powerful attack of 2k-3k potency (depends on Job)
- Unusable in dungeons/trials/raids
- A fun, rewarding "finishing move" for people doing things out in the world

- Useable in parties in Overworld content

Does this mean if I made a party with my fiance to do overworld content... we each lose our limit breaks because we're no longer solo?

That sounds pretty... unfortunate.
Especially since one of us usually goes healer.

Nay. You'd each have your respective LBs in a party, as long as you're not in a dungeon, trial or raid. I only said "solo content" and "overworld content" respectively because Job Quests are solo, and OW content is just... out in the world. No reason you wouldn't have your respective personal LBs just doing things out and about.

It's an interesting idea, i like it.
I expect it to happen? nope, unfortunately. I'm not sure how much they listen to NA/Forum and we are already a niche here.

Personal 'Limit Breaks' are technically what your weaponskills are, or were, in 1.0 originally anyway - they were originally special abilities you couldn't use until you built up enough 'Tactical Points' or TP for short by attackign enemies normally or taking damage in turn, like weaponskills in FFXI, allowing you to then let rip with them as long as you had enough TP in the gauge. ARR changed it so that you started with a full TP gauge that was gradually expended and once empty you could no longer use weaponskills (TP would gradually replenish by not doing anything during battle, and quickly refill out of battle). Eventually SE just scrapped the TP gauge completely with ShB, so now we have the Job gauge instead to replace it.

Yoshi has been asked about an actual full personal Limit Break system since pretty much before ARR's launch, and consistantly said "no" from what I understand. I do not see him changing his mind I'm sorry to say.

Well that's disappointing...
