New Caster DPS - Roll Skills

-Caster Roll Skills -

- Wizards Stance - "Perm-buff upon activation" - Grants 5-10% more magic damage. spell speed and crit. however you take 5-10% more damage this is a stance active living that grass cannon like fantasy here. its basically use it once and leave it alone

- Sleep - "Blm spell" added to roll skill with aoe (sleep is one awesome spell. and if you play solo as caster theres no granter ally this is best ground control spell in the whole game too bad it breaks on damage.

"Blizzard 2" - Changes - Blizzard II 80-120 potency damage (aoe effect is changed similar to fire II) and 20% slow with a 6 second bind . this no longer has a cast time instead it has instant-cast with 60-90 second cooldown this would make blizzard 2 kinda powerfrul without it being op still keeping to class fantasy

"Damage Siphon" - You reduce the targets main damage stat by 10% and you gain 10% more intelligence and peity both buff and debuff have 18-24 second cooldown (bye addle)

"Surecast"
"Swiftcast"

Do you mean RolE skills? Because Roll Skill sounds like you're trying to make a Gambler class with RNG.

Let's see those "good caster dps roll skills".

Wizard stance would be permanently up when there is a target available, you can make it a trait at this point.
Casters are already the most fragile role with high damage. That idea is already ingame, just not implemented the way you see it.
Also, there is a reason why SQEX removed "Blood for blood" damage taken increased and any stance dance.

Sleep -> RDM and SMN already have a bind skill and BLM has access to sleep. Both have the same use, to allow a safe escape against world mobs.
Same thing, it exist but it's no implemented how you want to see it.
Plus, it would be limited to certain content (potd, bozja) and bind/sleep is either resisted or does its work.

Damage skill is not a "role skill".

Damage Siphon is deeply flawed. Imagine a skill offers more damage AND utility, which way do you think it will be prioritized?
That's right, damage. Therefore casters would use "Damage Siphon" when they can deal more damage, not when they can mitigate damage.
Never mix utility and damage, this is a terrible mistake as the skill will be viewed as a damage skill first and not utility. We have too many examples of that.

I actually use sleep differently then bind. actually yah sure you can use it to run away. but way i use it is that if get myself surrounded by monsters sleep allows me take one out one by one . bind really cant do that cause it doesn't give you enough time
yah i use this as excape tool over sleep no problem but in anyway sleep is more powerful then bind

black mages sleep lasts good long while. its not coming off anytime soon. most likely you can kill one or two monsters with it before pops off. however blizzard too is extremely weak. its low level aoe too with bind attached to it. even as blm i never used it or any caster dps for that matter.

however I see sleep being hell lot more useful to caster dps. then blizzard II

Look say ideas perfect. but currently caster dps roll skills are somewhat lacking in alots of ways.

Bind does the work.
And in the most extreme situation.

The rest of your proposal have one or multiple flaws that wouldn't make them good role skills. Or simply don't belong in "Role skills".
If you complain about the caster state, please take a look at Ranged.

Every Caster role skill can be used in battle. 3 out of 4 are used in every battle, the rest is situationnal.
Ranged role skill, 1 out of 6 is used in every battle and the rest is situationnal with peloton being a joke.

RDM and SMN don't have any bind actions anymore since Shadowbringers launched. Also, the video you linked is over 3 years old. Tether (RDM bind action) and Tri-bind (SMN "aoe" action) have been removed from the game. Why they reintroduced a new aoe spell for SMN instead of just revamping Tri-bind is beyond me...

Still, adding "more role actions" that barely get used ain't good. I don't even have Leg and Foot Graze on my ranged DPS' hotbar, neither Fluid Aura on WHM nor Sleep on my BLM. Why? Because close to 99% of this games content, those actions are useless. Either the debuffs get removed immediately in e.g. trash mob by aoes, or stuff is immune to it.

If you really want to have bind and/or sleep actions in instances, such as Eureka, maybe add another special action button for those duties. But I would rather use my free hotbar spot for a potion or food instead of a skill that could be useful, yet still not necessary, in an instance with a chance of 0.1% to pop.

Wait what?
Terribly sorry about the mistake, those actions are pressed maybe once or twice per expansion, I didn't knew they were removed.
That and the fact I don't touch casters much.

Bind is on my hotbar but it was only to try if it would work to bind specific mobs in Bozja.
As the video shows it, it's also used to survive in POTD, but again POTD is the only content you want a bind to actually survive.

In any cases, my point remain for the other proposals.
