The second final days

Before starting I would like to clarify by saying the second final days. I mean the one that is started by both Zenos & Fandaniel and the whole plot point of Endwalker. This way it's easier to differentiate it from the final days of the ancients.
So this thought came to my mind a few days ago, shared it on Discord afterward then thought today about sharing it here as well.
I'm going to start by asking: Is the second final days going to be regarded as the 8th Calamity?
Now i know the second final days isn't a rejoining, and I'm not seeking an answer from the player or lore perspectives, but from the common folk themselves who have no idea about the existence of other worlds ( Shards and Other whole planets ) as well as how a calamity work, builds, or come from.
To the common folk, a calamity is simply an apocalyptic-like event. The second final days is also an apocalyptic-like event. To them, what's the difference? This brings me back to the question i asked earlier. Is the second final days going to be regarded as the 8th Calamity by the people of the source?

I see where you're coming from but I'm guessing probably not if it doesn't affect the world's aether in umbra/astral cycles etc the way calamities did.

Also just for the sake of not confusing PLAYERS I doubt the writers are going to have npcs call it the 8th calamity. Kind of like how in WoW the 'first second and third wars' refer to WC 1-3 even though that naming convention mostly makes sense more for players to know 'oh it's talking about that game' rather than making all that much sense in and of themselves.

We really won't know for sure itnil 6.0 hits, but I doubt they're going to write that into the story.

My understanding is that the lore books are written from an in-universe perspective, and the first contains a pretty decent explanation of what does and does not (and did and did not, prior to the seventh umbral calamity) constitute a calamity, as well as knowledge of the ardor, or rejoining.
I think this information is also outdated following our enlightenment on the First, but I think anyone who understands the cycles of calamities will also understand whether or not this qualifies as one.
It would be fun if this scholarly understanding of calamities and the ardor are actually why our friends over at Old Sharlayan are so confident that the world is not ending. I would love to see a story that touches on how academic overconfidence can lead to ignorance.

As for commoners who may or may not even be literate? It would make sense for them to conflate a new type of world-ending phenomena with the one they witnessed less than a decade ago.
But how would those commoners know anything about the aetherial nuances of the calamities?

Plus, who knows? It could be another actual calamity in the making. Even if Fandaniel and Zenos don't care about the ardor, I can't help but wonder what the others are up to.
Perhaps Deudalaphon is still out there, trying to capitalise on this situation.

Honestly we haven't even seen any final days yet. I really think they dropped the ball with this transition from shadowbringers to endwalker. There's no final days, there's no chaos, there are no endtime monsters running around. None of that has actually happened.

personally I find it annoying how they keep bringing up these final days but no such thing is actually happening. In fact we just keep beating away the bad guys.. sooooo..? where's the final days we keep hearing about?

I prefer the suspense of an impending disaster to there actually being one happening but not being able to do anything about it until the expansion releases.

I'd assume that this "gate of the gods" Fandaniel is talking about is what's going to actually start causing the world to unravel when the time comes and will likely be what drives the Scions and everyone else to make their move on Garlemald after conducting more investigations in Thavnair and Sharlayan/Labyrinthos.

When did Fandaniel talk about a gate of the gods? I think my memories just hazy here, but that possibility excites me, because that was something the Zilart(ancinets of FFXI) were after across a couple of storylines.

yeah i am still waiting for the legions of voidsent to start failing from he sky so they can killed by me. To comon folk it could be a calamity but to others if there isn't an active ascian plot going on in other worlds, then it isn't a rejoining. I fully expect to see the same voidsent that contributed in aumorat's fall. I think the first beast showed up in the bench mark still waiting for therion.
