Right now its annoying.. I have 3 characters but I always have to address other people to help me move items and they don't always have time + it proves dangerous since you can't prove to SE if someone broke your trust and stole from you.. or if you gave it to them.
I suggest adding a tab in the character configuration panel where you can choose which one of your inventories you wish to share between all your characters (useful for items you need all the time such as Ghysal greens, glam prisms, materia, potions, etc) and if you want to also share gil or crystals. Would also take away the annoying "can't do shit" feeling when you restart the game with an alt.

While I personally would like consumable item sharing I know that if they allowed ALL items to be shared it would essentially negate the early game for a new character cause I could just give them all of the end game gear from the get go. I think the best work around for you right now is to use an FC chest you have access to to input items from one toon and pull them out on your other one *some items cant be placed in the FC chest
