Downside to being on Aether now

The downside to being on Aether now:

Pants? Perks? Plans?

Real life friends? Never heard of those? Are they edible?

Also wondering if OP literally made this thread just to tell someone in his FC he was doing a world transfer.

It's not something that bothers me at the moment, but tbh I can see people really having that kind of trouble

What do you mean real life? Isnt our lives on Eorzea real life? Arent you all using your tombstone to talk on here? Anyway gonna continue reading my fantasy blog on the CNN website it has some interesting fanfiction to read.

I am having the issue where my playing got my friends interested. They wanted to play with me joined, bought the game but now they can’t make a character on my DC at all so we can’t play together unless i make an alt off my DC and I don’t really want to. I mean to be fair i did warn them that Aether would be locked, but they did not heed my warnings.. as if I would deliberately say that to keep us from playing together xD silly.. i have another friend who is wanting to join me but can’t that did listen to my warning and he was a bit disappointed..

Lol the one time i have real friends that actually want to join me in an mmo and I can’t really have them unless I completely start over with nothing :rolleyes:.

You realize the lockdown is temporary right?

Pretty safe bet they'll be adding new servers to Aether in the not too distant future. The problem wasn't anticipated and is a direct result of the influx of players from WOW. DC travel is coming in October so that will help with friends who want to play together. Crystal and Primal are still available for new characters and friends will be able to visit and play with their friends on Aether soon enough.

This congested status has happened before; so this is only temporary.

Oh for sure. It doesn’t help the frustration tho. Lol . I know it is temporary it is just some people are being hit with a series of unfortunate events because of the lock. For some people waiting till oct is a long time to wait..

I don’t think this thread was meant to be anything but a venting situation and for others effected to just have a bit of a chat about it..

Who would've thunk it that when a game becomes more populare it would put stress on existing servers?
Not like other MMOs has had to lock down servers due to a high increase in players.
Especially in such a short timespan.

"We" got what "we" wanted, FFXIV to become more populare in the eyes of the public.
And now we just have to be patient until fixes are made to allow the game go run smoothly with this increase.
