Live letter expectations.

Since the live letter is within a month and we don't have much to talk about. What is yours guys hopes, expectations, and worst case scenarios for healers.

My hopes: Whm gets more of an identity besides big gcd heals and more dps buttons. Sch gets their old fairy (if a little nerfed) and their dots. Ast feels pretty good right now so not much is needed.

My expectations: Whm will stay the relatively the same because it had the least amount of complaints, maybe more healing buttons and nerfing of fluid aura to just splash some one with water. Sch has had some of the most complaints. So they might do something to them? They might just get rid of energy drain and call it a day. Ast is supposed to become a regen healer but diurnal pretty much a regen healer already. I don't think they're getting as big as a rework as much as people think. They all get an upgrade to their single target nuke and dot.

Worst case scenario: I don't think it can get worst then stb for whm but they can surprise me. Same thing with sch but in shb. Ast loses their cards or their seals and just uses divination to buff.

All in all pretty low expectations.

Don't say it can't get worse, because it can, and most certainly will. I'm fully expecting for them to actively make healing worse, and then fully and completely ignore it. Healers engagement and enjoyment has never been anywhere near even the bottom of their list of priorities and it absolutely shows.

My expectations going in are below rock bottom, and I fully expect them to skip the Healer slides again, and focus for two hours on every little minor nuance of Reaper and show off the latest absolutely finely tuned perfection of Black Mage and show nothing for the other classes. That's how it's always been, and that's how it always will be.

Which surprises me. Either the previous iterations of the job were so terrible that people are happy with current WHM, or I don't know. The job is in a desperate need of a rework, more than SCH and AST.

Whm was the only job that got better in shb, it wasn't by any massive amount or anything. Whm has probably some of the most useless buttons out of any job in the game while also having the least amount of buttons out of all the healers. When you compare ast healing and dps tools tools with their massive mobility, its not even close.

I'm an optimist but even my optimisms has bounds lol, that's about where I am.

The problem is we saw it since 3 expansion. Whm being absolutely bad as hell and they don’t do anything against that the entire expansion. Astro is gonna blow the 1-2 raid tiers like always. And they gonna try removing energy drain from sch again. And hard to say what they do with sage. The problem they have is people tell them before the expansion drops that specific healer stuff won’t work and then brute force it anyway. And then they leave healer in a really bad state. But oh boy if a dps jobs is bad they get a rework in like 1 raid tier. It’s just ridiculous how much you feel like ja 3 grade player.

I completely agree, we are most certainly treated like second class citizens when it comes to us asking for as cohesive and optimal job design as the other roles. At least the other roles are acknowledged in their complaints (minus Mch for a long time).

Based off of past experience, Sage will be woefully underpowered and nearly unplayable in actual content if we base it off of how Astro originally released. If we base it off other jobs released, it will be massively overturned and will dominate play for the foreseeable meta until Savage Raids drop.

Personally, I want Aero III back, and/or some other form of dps spell or ability, maybe like Assize that deals damage and/or heal? and I'm really hoping that "Fluid Aura II" we saw in the benchmark isn't actually a shield, or else what'd even be the point of separating healers into regen/barrier if we're getting one either way

That said, my expectations are:
WHM: no changes whatsoever, gets Fluid Aura II
AST: still WHM 2.0 but maybe cards get a minor overhaul again
SCH: ....honestly, I have no idea, the job is just a mess all over the place
Sage (SGE?): Noct 2.0

My only real expectation is for them to roll all Diurnal effects into the necessary actions that have Sect-specific effects for AST.

you should all just keep your expectation levels at zero so that you won't fall down from having them up so high.
