Mount idea: Dragoon flight (via "Kain's Lance")

Based on the text of the wind-up Kain minion, we know that Kain existed in Ishgardian legend. And I think most would agree, it would be cool if Dragoons could ACTUALLY fly.

Even if the mount itself could be used while other jobs, I would add a quest which ONLY Dragoons could embark on, acquiring a lance or spear to harness the currents of the wind, allowing Dragoons to soar through the sky!

Could maybe even tie it into a revamped Garuda or Nidhogg fight, or something like that? Make it a bit of a "status" mount though, not just GIVEN to you for leveling a Dragoon.

Cool idea. I like it! Hopefully, if SE would ever make one, it would be not a cash shop mount.

I need this! Either that, or allow Dragoon to jump through the sky like how the Warrior of Light as a Dragoon does briefly during the Shadowbringers trailer. It's a crying dam shame we can't fly!

I think in my mind, they would take Kain's lance from the Dissidia games, and have a short chain in which you learn to use it to harness the wind:

When you pull the lance out, have streams of wind gently spiral around you. When you begin flying forward, maybe you hear a soft "boom" or "burst" of wind, with your spear forward, gently rising and falling, sort of like how Eastern dragons are often represented flying.

Essentially, the spear itself would be what's granting flight, you're just kind of pointing it in the direction you want to go.

It wouldn't be anything nearly as flashy as the Heavensward cinematic, but I always consider that where the various "Jump" animations are supposed to be for, anyways.

Flying with spear reminds me of the flying sword Hildibrand uses :3, could be a super MGP reward !

On the idea of a dragoon specific mount, I thought the jumping thing could be quite cool (although a toggle passive, imo, would be far more... roleplay-y like, or at least instant mount outside of combat). To avoid pathing problems simply have it require flying to remove pathing, if you land on something unpathable (can't 'stand' on it) then you just sort of sun Wukong stand on your spear (impaled into the ground or whatever). In this way it doesn't disrupt the game when you've not unlocked flying yet.

For flight, still thinking dragoon, getting like 7 wings to pop out of your back with Hraesvelgr or Nidhogg theme'd wings would be neat, gives a very Legend of Dragoon vibe.

Yeah, I honestly put a lot of thought into how a "jumping" mechanic might work, but I couldn't think of anything that felt organic.

I DO like the idea of the wings popping out of your back, though! We obviously saw that during the Nidhogg fight, so I could totally see doing a similar version for us. Presumably Midgardsomr's wings?

This is obviously a very old post, but actually I still think it's kind of a cool idea!

a mount i'd really like is a teacup, our characters can stand inside it and hold onto the edge and lookout over the top (for lala's can either give them a tiny teacup so they can standup or make all teacups the same size and make it so lala's have to hold onto the edge to see over it)

I want a mount of Sadu.
