Everytime it arrives, I expect to see some cute swimwear, but this time around, it’s just a polar bear mount. I’m so disappointed I don’t even want to continue typing.

You have a right to be disappointed as are others. To the people who want to tell us to be grateful, please sit down. We had multiple items to choose from last year, including glamour. I'm happy that people are enjoying the mount but it doesn't stop people from missing the staple of Moonfire which is swimwear. Us being upset shouldn't take away from you being happy with your mount. People used Covid as an excuse for last year's Moonfire too....but we still got swimwear. So what 's the excuse this year for stripping it down further and then chucking in 2-3 Mogstation items at the same time?
Side note: As someone who's in school currently for 3D design/clothing design...you can push out a brand new swimsuit that's form fitted in like....1-2h of work. Less if you're experienced. I really don't understand why we don't have any. Endwalker is fair enough but 1-2h isn't going to slow down progress by that much.
I can't stand the bear. I got it... but I don't like it. Polar Bears aren't meant to be cuddled.

I'm not disappointed in the rewards (you don't need a bunch of bathing suits) but I'm more disappointed that there's not much to do with the event, which is my complaint for quite a few of them. Then they took the tower away so not much to do there...
Yes, I don't need. But I want. Thank you. I like variety in my life and collecting. If you don't need/want a bunch of bathing suits, that's fair and you're more than welcome to feel that way. Just don't tell other people how to feel/allow others to want the things they want. :)
was expecing some water slide at least ....
I don't mind the rewards themselves. Of course, I wouldn't have said no to glamour as well.
I do agree more with the perspective that the bigger issue is a lack of things to do. I've played MMOs in the past where you basically are forced to schedule your game time during a seasonal event entirely around doing a regimented series of every single event activity every single day to get the rewards, and I very much don't want that. I appreciate that this event itself (and basically all FF holiday events) is just 30 minutes of story and that's it. That's a good thing to me. But I absolutely feel there should be more for people to do if they want to do it, especially since we have literally had more to do doing previous summer events.
Now, the summer fests in FF14 have always been weird because of how the summer fest is pretty much immediately followed by the anniversary event. I always tend to prefer looking at the two as a pair when it comes to balancing out rewards and content, and I'll be more inclined to weigh in completely after we know what The Rising will contain.
Not every year is a winner.
This sentence made me chuckle for some reason...
