Mac PS5 controller support

the key mapping doesn't work properly in Mac client of FF XIV.

Not using steam client, don't plan to connect my account to steam.

OS: big sur 11.5.1
controller: ps5

connecting to mac, using gamepad controller tester. all mappings are correct.
In game all mappings are wrong.

Have the same problem with the xbox controller using Big Sur 11.5.1. I have tried to run the calibration tool, but it does not register that anything is being pressed.

Tried a generic controller as well, unable to map inputs correcting in game.

Mac FF XIV client seems to have problems with controllers?

Hello, I'm also experiencing the same problem getting the Mac client to properly recognize the first party Sony PS5 controller. Keybinding is impossible in ffxiv but the controller is functional in other games.

Model Name: MacBook Pro
Serial Number: FVFDPDZPQ05F
Year: 2020
Chip: Apple M1
Total Number of Cores: 8 (4 performance and 4 efficiency)
Memory: 8 GB
Built-in Retina Display: 13.3-inch (2560 × 1600)
Storage Limit: 500Gb

I have the exact same configuration as the first post writer. I just bought a dualsense controller since this didn't work with my elite series 2. same thing. no buttons work in the calibration screen. I haven't even tried using in game yet because I think ill cry if I realize I spent 70 dollars on a brick...

This issue persists after the most recent hotfix update on Monday, August 23.

This is obviously an issue with the mac client controller mapping in game.
and seems like this is an ongoing issue from what I see from other posts.
Since Licenses are bought based off platform, expect support for the platform, then why has this not been fixed?

Really hoping this is resolved soon, I also bought this DualSense controller thinking I would be able to use it in FFXIV. I'd rather not have the money go to waste as we all are aware these controllers are not cheap.

I spent quite some time playing around with the controller, and I'm pretty sure I figured out the issue. Hopefully this can help. The mapping for the controller is backwards, and flipped, sometimes incorrect. The only one that's "incorrect" is the triggers. If you press the triggers it "clicks" in the thumb sticks. The triangle is correct the others are flipped. Pressing circle presses x, pressing x presses square, pressing square presses circle. The directional arrows don't register at all. Then tilting the right thumb stick to the bottom presses one of the triggers, and pressing it to the right presses the other. I'm pretty sure those were the only things I can find. For me personally I'm playing on a Mac pro, and would love to be able to use a controller as I played since 2014 on ps4.
