Hacked
My brothers account was hacked on Sunday night and it seems that it was used by someone who logged in from Brazil and logged him out on Twintania. They obviously did something they shouldn’t because when my brother tried to log in, his account had been suspended. He has sent in multiple tickets but the only reply he has received was to say they had got the first ticket and since then nothing. We have no experience with this and feel left in the dark. Does anyone have some information to make things clearer about what might be going on please?

Did your brother click on a link he received in-game and entered his ID and password on a site that was similar to the lodestone/SE's official site/etc ?
It happened to many people lately so perhaps that's why.

Only thing he clicked was a message in game for a raffle. I also saw it but I took no notice. He said it took him to a page on this forum.

Well, it was not the forum but a scam side that looks like a forum.
He probably had to login into that scam forum and that's where they stole his account.
He has to wait for his ticket to be answered, until then there is nothing he can do.
If he had his ID and password combination somewhere else then he should change it asap.

Yes, the raffle looks like SE forums which are not. It's a fake. never follow those links and check the URL.

He used a link which brought him to a fake SE side which made him log in, which caused the hacker (its not really hacking if your willingly give it is it?) to have his account info. The Char was logged in, cleared out and then used to spam messaged to get more people into the scheme, which was reported by a person who got the message that knew its a scam and bam your char is suspended ...
But i do wonder what the GM's point on this is, they clearly must understand what happened, but there's also warnings on the log in screen to not click links ... There's multiple whys for why he should remain banned and multiple for why he should not ...
