The descriptions for Veneration and Innovation need to be adjusted.

The description for these actions specifically say they affect "Synthesis" and "Touch" actions respectively.
In reality, these actions affect ALL PROGRESS and ALL QUALITY increasing actions, respectively.

This creates a communication issue with a few actions. For example, Delicate Synthesis; this action increases both progress and quality.
But it has "Synthesis" in the name and some players are finding themselves confused with Veneration, which says it improves the efficiency of Synthesis actions.
While it does improve how much progress is given, it does not improve how much quality is given. Using Innovation, however, will improve how much quality this action gives, despite it not having "Touch" in the name.

The simplest way to fix this would simply be to change the description of these actions.
Veneration: Increases the amount of progress gained from actions by 50% for the next four steps.
Innovation: Increases the amount of quality gained from actions by 50% for the next four steps.

Synthesis actions affect progress. Touch actions affect quality/rating.

A synthesis action doesn't need to have "Synthesis" in the name to be a synthesis action, nor does "Touch" need to be in the name of a touch action. That would be like saying Cure, Benefic and Physick aren't healing spells because none of them contain the word "Heal" in the name.

Still, something like Temperance is simply worded "Increases healing magic potency by 20%" while Innovation is "Increases efficiency of Touch actions. I can understand the confusion, it makes it sound like the abilities with Touch in their name are their own separate category.

For example, if Temperance was worded "Increases the potency of Cure spells by 20%" you could forgive someone for thinking that meant Cure I, II and III specifically.

It doesn't matter that much really, you figure it out soon enough but it wouldn't hurt to change the wording.

If I’m understanding your point correctly, the complaint is that it’s not communicated well via the tooltip that veneration effects the skills “Groundwork” and “Brand of the Elements”, and Innovation effects “Byregot’s Blessing”. Technically they would also effect Muscle Memory and Reflect but those skills need to be used first in a craft.

Anyhow semantics aside, there’s a crafting forecast menu that, when opened, will show you the efficacy of your touch and synthesis actions, as well as how much they will increase those bars by. The skills Veneration and Innovation, as well as certain other buffs to your touch or synthesis actions, are reflected in that forecast.

That's what I'm saying, though. Those actions say that they specifically affect "Synthesis" and "Touch" actions, when they should more accurately say that they effect actions that increase "progress" and "quality" respectively.
I literally had to explain to a friend the other day that Veneration wasn't increasing the amount of quality Delicate Synthesis was providing, because he thought that it would because Veneration says it effects "Synthesis" actions.

When a topic like this pops up, I prefer to hear about solutions.

How about changing the text to "affecting progress-increasing actions" and "affecting quality-increasing actions"? Will that clarify things better?

I personally don't see the need, but I guess with the influx of all the new people who may have little knowledge in crafting, they can make an effort to improve the tooltips.
