Server nightmare...
I'm having some of the worst trouble with staying connected. I literally get disconnected after only 5-10 minutes of play through the course of the entire day, and this has been going for two weeks straight now. I'm not sure if it's my own connection or the servers because this wasn't even remotely an issue up until a couple weeks ago and I've been playing 3 years now. So I'm at a loss. Any ideas what's going on?

Influx of players most likely are the culprit. Wouldn't hurt to contact your ISP to see if they carried out any engineering/upgrade works recently. May not be the case for yourself, but I had similar troubles until my ISP sent out a newer modeled router. I've not had a disconnect since, so it might be worth trying that too?

It might not be either. ISPs connect to other companies that provide the backbone of the internet, and some of those have extraordinarily bad networks.
Plus, some ISPs just don't care if a node goes faulty because "it's good enough" for most internet uses.

Only time I had this issue was when my prior ISP Cox communications was having issues connecting with the WoW servers. Might want to post this on the IT forums with your computers specs and name of the ISP you use.

Personally I haven't had any issues staying connected but I've had some occasional lag spikes more than usual lately. I'm confident that it's the FF servers and not my own connection. I play primarily on PS5 so I guess it could be Sony as well. Anyway, it might not hurt to check your own hardware and connection with your ISP. My PC was having these issues before with WoW and FF XIV. A full reset and making sure everything was clean (dusted it out and everything) and firmly in place inside the tower fixed that problem. Could be a faulty/loose part or a corrupted file, or it could use a good physical cleaning. It's hard to say. I just know what has worked for me in the past.
