Triple triad ascension question

Hello!

I've been playing Triple Triad for some time now and I have a question that drastically affects my Ascension type games.

Here is an image-example of my match with Vorsaile Heuloix, the Twin-Adder Serpent Commander:

The last 3 turns went as follows:

1. I play Ifrit on the bottom-right
2. He plays Ramuh on the center-right, he captures my Ifrit
3. I play bahamut on the top-right, I don't capture his Ramuh

So, since all cards are titan-type and all cards exceed the rank of the previously played card by 1 I should either capture his Ramuh or he shouldn't be able to capture my Ifrit.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Card scores are capped at 10.
After you play your Ifrit, your Ifirt up side becomes 8 and his Ramuh sides become 9. And your Bahamut down and up go to 10. When he plays his Ramuh, his Ramuh stats become 10, but your Bahamut does not go to 11, but stays 10 instead.
