What would be benefit for paying then? being able to trade/tell/marketboard/fc? Once you paid your in, nothing stops you from making a free trial account as well as a full paid one.
The trial is to get you into the game SE doesnt do it from the good of their heart, its a marketing idea to get more players to join/pay, their a company.
