Bring back the role skill diversion for alliance raids

right now most tank players outside of the main tank role neglect their role of being number 1 on the aggro bar on the top left so whenever the main tank dies the boss would just start destroying DPS players on the party

edit: just add tank swaps to alliance raids

Actually a fantastic suggestion, that way all of the players dealing the highest damage won't be the first ones to die if the tank goes down; they can use it on cooldown while lower skilled players can be skeletonized

They can also rework diversion, to give aggro to the tank

Big no from me. At least for the reason you specified... giving 7 players in the party an extra button to press just because 1 person in the party isn't doing there job properly...

At this point a better solution would be to bake emnity into all tank skills as standard and just have ethe tank stance be a x2 modifier or something.

That the way the tanks will basically automatically be at the top of the gauge regardless of stance the stance would then just cement the main tank so enmity isnt constantly bouncing around..

This. Why add even more button bloat for what should be passive, given that the devs have already removed any and all reasons for DPS to hold aggro even briefly (short of Arm's Length when it can be spared, but more than a single attack per mob makes it an rDPS loss again)?

Just give tanks their tank stance at all times, effectively, and give Provoke an enmity-steal effect (incoming enmity is misdirected to you, starting at 100% misdirection and fading over 40 seconds -- plenty of time to just hit Provoke on CD if need be as an undergeared tank who insists on being the Alliance Raid MT). Voila. We can trim both the Tank Stance button and Shirk, killing button-count-based excuses for such little integral active mitigation.

:: If Diversion should make a return, it should be to do the opposite of normal function, rather than merely bloat that process. It should be something I hit only when, as a DPS, I want to gather mobs for whatever reason. Of course, that'd have to be situated first, such as by making kiting remotely a thing again or unnerfing skills like Shadeshift (formerly Perfect Dodge), the original/previewed Third Eye iteration, etc.

that would be an improvement over tanks just fighting over aggro and killing other players, or neglecting to do their role and killing other players both of which almost always happen in a public duty

I liked diversion. It was a neat skill and really helped to differentiate between Queens and Peasants. Not entirely sure there's a need for it in the modern version of the game, but I wouldn't say no to it. I'd even use it too.

Hits bloat skill on cooldown despite tanks having a 10x enmity modifier while dealing more than a 10th a DPS's damage: queen.
Expected tank with 10x enmity modifier to be able to hold threat without their having to hit a bloat skill on CD: peasant

Okay so you completely missed the point here. Tanks aren't losing hate, they're dying because they don't know mechanics and that means anyone who puts in any amount of legit effort to do good damage is going to be the first one squashed once that happens.

No, it's not a thing for high-end raiding. It would be for people like me who actually enjoy doing casual content for fun. Put the enmity dump effect back on lucid dreaming while we're at it.

Tanks aren't losing hate because other than the MT they never establish it in the first place. They aren't all dying to mechanics. lmao. What's happening is the MT dies for whatever reason and the other 2 tanks never activate Tank Stance. Diversion and Lucid dreaming will do absolutely nothing in this situation that wouldn't be better served by tanks simply having (larger) enmity generation on the entirety of their rotation, with tank stance simply being a a decider for MT/OT duty.
