Chat Tabs Suggestion

Alright everyone, this is the first time I've ever posted on a forum in my life so be gentle with me please. This is a straight up copy and paste of what I sent via the in game suggestion system with a minor spelling correction. Only throwing it in the forums because someone from NN suggested it to maybe get some more traction.

Suggestion as follows:

I'm a player who recently came over from World of Warcraft. So far Final Fantasy is an awesome game! Really loving it! There is one thing I find that WoW does better though and that is the chat system... Specifically chat tabs. I see that in this game you are limited to 4 chat tabs and there is a complicated system where you have to filter what goes into them. This may "get the job done" but two simple changes I think would really streamline this and allow players to quickly and efficiently filter out chat topics that are important to them.

1) Right clicking a chat topic and being able to move it to a new tab. Example: Right click where it says [NOVICE] > interact menu appears > "Move to new tab" button is available. Boom! Just like that it's in its own tab and you can continue on your journey without filtering through menus.

2) More than 4 chat tabs. Why limit it to 4? Personally I like having a sort of "Instant Messenger" style chat system. Each PM I have going between players in its own tab and categories in their own tab as well like Party and Novice Network. Then 1 general tab with all the nitty gritty game information so that it doesn't get cluttered up with player chat!

Anyways, thank you so much for taking the time to read this! I feel like it's important to have a super versatile chat system in MMO games due to the massive amount of information that goes through that little window.

This would be a lovely QoL~

how do you keep track of conversations and when someone said something using multiple tabs?
Also wouldnt more tabs lead to a more cluttered interface?

those issues are entirely up to the user. There also can be a limit on how many extra tabs you can add.

i would welcome having at least a couple more tabs since theres space for them in the tabs ui already.

The tabs light up when there is a new message so you know to check them. It doesn't really clutter the interface I feel. You're only adding more tabs to the already existing line of tabs at the bottom of the chat window. It would be a quick and effective way to remove the clutter from your main chat window though so you can focus on the information you want to see in that moment.

I would like for /tells between users opened a new tab automatically, it's difficult to speak to several people in /tell all at once.

This would be a perfect feature. Personally I would like to see this as an option to turn on and off because I like making the new windows myself, but I know a lot of people prefer to have /tell type messages go straight into their own tab.
