Cid having a rocket to fly us to the moon with a remix of the ff7 rocket theme it would be a missed opportunity for such a classic of a sound track and a reference to cid from ff7 rocket obsession if they don't add it.

Not sure about the Cid rocket thing but give me a full version of the Rocket theme from FF7

I would say it is possible due to cids father worked on Project Meteor and there is a possibility due to project meteor was a space project and due to cid defected from the empire mid way of the project there is a chance cid has been working on a rocket for a long time maybe because he fear such a thing could happen again and cid has been known to prepare before hand.

My speculation is when we get to Garlemald we will most likely meet cids father or a lot of mentions about him in the ruins as cid was considered a prodigy thus would be seen as somewhat a celebrity next to his father.

More likely to see mentions as I’m pretty sure he died during the lunar transmitter incident that happened in Bozja.

I'm sorry but I don't want every character to be like Zenos and I want him to have an especially good reason for why he's not dead and gone.

Next thing we know, the deaths of characters doesn't matter anymore and each and every character is brought back from the dead for the same reason.

This is something I really dislike about WoW's current lore, there is no drama behind a protagonist/antagonist dying cause you can summon them back from the Twisting Nether, you can open a portal to the Shadowlands and bring them back, you can time travel and bring them again, you can bring them back as an undead again, which, unlike the Scourge, feels just like a normal other race that just doesn't eat/sleep, to be fair the only point they vividly show it matters to be an undead inside the game is the quests of Lilian Voss, the rest of it feels like it's just another race, or you can just resurrect them as the newly founded holy undead of the light again and the list goes on.

For a good story, I like such things to matter, being alive matters, dying matters and being an undead shouldn't be just about having an appearance.

I do understand that developers may sometimes choose to sacrifice the story for the sake of gameplay but for a story driven MMO, I'd like it if such sacrifices are done carefully.

Why would they do that in a IV-themed expansion?

It's clearly going to be more FFIV inspired I'm sorry to say, and it's pretty clear we'll be using an Allagan vessel to travel to the moon, as it's already in the lore the Allag had space travel (the Ragnarok-class Internment Hulks are actually spacecraft), and the FFIV connections are already pretty heavy. We're even getting Namingways on the moon! (Under a different name, but you can tell that's what SE are referencing. ;)).

So alas, I'm pretty certain you're not going to see any connection to FFVII with this I'm afraid (you're more likely to have a remix of this theme instead travelling to the moon instead).

Death in final fantasy games is a convenient plot that people only ever die out of convenience when we have the power to bring people back to life you should all know this by now look at every game in the series when someone dies its always to push the plot.

Enkidoh the name of the theme is called "The Big Whale" that is referencing bismarck i doubt they would have used that theme for getting to the moon if anything it sounds more like sailing music then going to space music.

Yes i am aware there is a lot of FFIV in the reference but its not uncommon for them to reference two diffrent games in a single expansion we did get a ff4 sound track with ff8 references at one point if i recall correctly in one of the expansions i can see them using ff7 mostly because of remake and they can simply take assets from that as they are up to date and would fit in ffxiv.
