Frequent nvwgf2umx error/ DX11 client crashes
EDIT: ***FIXED*** I will edit if I get a crash again but I have been playing all day no crash. Prior to this I couldn't make it an hour without a crash.
This may only be a fix for Ryzen. I enabled PBO in BIOS , selected the Positive curve option under curve optimizer, and set the magnitude setting to 5. I left the clock setting at +0. I have not had any issues in other games so I am not sure if my CPU just has a bad core or what. Do this at your own risk. I would not increase the voltage much on your CPU. I believe that increasing it to 5 on my bios increased the max mv by .025.
Hi,
I just started playing this game. I really love it, but I have been getting frequent client crashes and nvwgf2umx errors while playing. I have tried just about everything I have read with no success. I am not sure if it just is some sort of compatibility issue with my set up and the game.
SPECS
RTX 3090 ASUS TUF OC
RYZEN 5800X
32GB 3600MHZ
x570 auros elite
4k 144hz monitor
steps I havetaken- I do not have anything OCD but I loaded optimized bios defaults to be safe
- Ran game -300mhz core clock with Mai afterburner
- Tried debug mode in Nvidia cp
- multiple reinstalls of game with virus protection turned off
- Tried Fullscreen and borderless
- Gamemode disabled in windows and various background apps disabled
- Clean windows install with zero 3rd party programs running/installed
- multiple clean driver installs using DDU and Nvidia clean install
- tried older drivers and newest
- tried my wife's GPU in my system (still crashed)
- Tried her ram in my system (still crashed)
In game settings- Maximum defaults
- Fps limits removed
- Borderless windowed
Stress testing on system (no issues)
Ran furmark and realbench for a couple hours no issues
ran p95 and other CPU tests and stable
No crashes in other titles with hundreds of hours of gameplay (Witcher 3 , Cyberpunk 2077, hunt showdown, league, valorant, cod mw and many more)
I am really just hoping to see if someone who is also playing at 4k 144hz with new hardware is having the same issues as me. I have friends with similar hardware but they are not maxing out their gpu as they are playing at 1080p. I feel like this is some sort of compatibly issue and I will have to hope for a patch as my setup is fairly uncommon. Any insight and suggestions that I have not tried will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
EDIT: resolved issue
