Anyone else worried Ishgard housing is going to be a little too gloomy?

From a lore perspective, I LOVE the idea of making Ishgard my permanent residence! I freaking LOVE Shadowbringers, but Heavensward is still probably my favorite expansion thus far.

But in running around the Firmament, I do worry a bit that it's going to be a bit gloomy and depressing.

I like the overall design, but it feels like it's missing... I dunno, "something". I like the bright decorations during the "Fetes" event, but still, it's lacking a certain "warmth".

Part of me would like to see a thicker coat of powder snow, as I feel like it would give you a bit more to work with as more of a "Winter wonderland" vibe.

(Also; should such options be available, I would go HAM on some Christmas-themed decorations!)

Part of me still wishes we'd have gotten some floating isles in Churning Mists or Sea of Clouds for a housing settlement, and Sharlayan seems like it could play home to a pretty amazing housing district, as well!

Either way, it'll still be exciting to get a new housing area. PURE FREAKING CHAOS those first few days, I'm sure, but exciting all the same!

(In fact, it might be kind of nice if they did some kind of "raffle" for the first spots, instead of the usual rat-race where those with the best PC load-in and get to the best houses first...)

I actually enjoyed the gloomy aspect of Ishgard. But I won't move in there because the ward will be full of houses with bright colored ugly shirogane castle walls and giant namazus on everyone's yard and if these things already clash a lot on other wards, imagine on Ishgard where everything is greyish. The whole mood will be gone.

The Firmament looks fantastic so I'm not worried about it.

As far as weird housing choices go well that's something consistent with every housing district anyway so I'm not going to worry about it. I plan to transfer into a small firmament plot when I get the chance.

The music in that zone is great :) I bought the orchestrion roll so fast XD

I, however, will not be relocating... I discovered while living in the Midwest for 7+ years that I do not like snow... The cold doesn't settle well with me or the lack of sunshine for days/weeks on end. I grew up in Southern California so it's the falling snow and overcast feel that's turning me away from it. It wouldn't say gloomy, just not an atmosphere I'd consider.

I want the gloomy aspect tbh.
And it still gets sun there? I just don't think it will be as gloomy as folks say it will be.
But personally, I love the like, stone architecture and snow with an overcast. So perfect to me.

I want it to be gloomy. I like clouds, snow, and no sun.

If you don't want gloomy we have 4 other housing zones!

I wish it was gloomier and had more snow, and had less houses, all the smalls should be removed.

I hope it's kept gloomy, and that they add some kind of feature to restrict housing exterior appearances clientside. As excited as I am for ishgard housing, I already know it's going to be blanketed in hideous paissa houses and lego colored weaboo huts.

Doesn't matter to me because I won't get one, they'll be gone in five minutes.

Was gonna wait for Ishgard apartments but decided against it, despite loving the city. Maybe relocate when i can afford it again.

Got other stuff to buy first.

I not only hope it's as gloomy as a non fete firmament, I hope it's even COLDER and SNOWIER, and even more dark stone and doom.

Look, some of us LIKE that atmosphere. If you want happy there's all the other houses in the game.
