Think they’ll add M1 support or just let the Mac client die?

I know “lol Mac” but there are people that use one and want to play this game on the side when not at home. So far the m1 is unofficially supported and runs the game “okay” under Rosetta 2 currently. Will they ever update their game client for m1 ARM support? I would certainly hope so seeing as how they just sold a $199 CE for Endwalker Mac Edition.

No, it will always be a windows game running under crossover.

(Well, maybe if they release a Windows ARM version one year)

Edit: I should say, I am still blown away by just how well it runs on a laptop that sips power, it's very enjoyable to use when I am travelling.

Native M1 support would be nice...

well now you have your answer. They are slowly killing the Mac client, the elimination of intel support and lack of Mac benchmark means it will continue to be a crap port on M series, they probably haven't even looked at apple's game porting toolkit to see how easy it would be to make a native Mac client of the game yet, laziness.

Officially, probably not. They don’t care about the Mac.

Unofficialy, it runs fine on Apple silicon with “XIV on Mac”

I think the Mac users won't be having alot of luck :(
