Launcher opens with black screen and never loads

I'm having an issue where my launcher will open with a black screen and no other information. It will remain in that state until I close the window. This started happening the evening of May 13. I am on a mac pro. I've seen in the forums that there is a launcher issue with launcher on the m1 mac, but I am on an intel based mac and am still having the issue. Have tried the instructions from this thread:

and tweaking the boot.cfg file as specified here:

But without any luck. It seems to work if I create a new user account on my mac, but obviously I'd like to get it working as my primary user if possible. Would appreciate any advice.

Could you provide the specifications of the Mac? Additionally does this issue occur after the game is uninstalled and reinstalled?

I'm using mac 10.14.4 (Mojave). Here are the technical specs:

Mac Pro (Late 2013)
Processor: 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5
Memory: 64 GB 1866 MHz DDR3
Graphics: AMD FirePro D700 6 GB

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game with no luck. Which is odd because installing it fresh on a new account seemed to work. I'm guessing there are files saved somewhere that I'm missing?
